fwiw, a friend of mine lost their tickets in April, on day 4 with 4 day tickets. They had originally purchased online and had their tickets delivered via email. The CM could look the tickets up with her email, see the ticket number, and verify that they had not been used by anyone on day 4. The CM then questioned them on exactly what days they had been used and approximately what time they entered the parks and then gave them all a ticket for day 4.
Before that, I had always had my tickets delivered via snail mail because I enjoyed having them in hand, but will always use email from now on. (and don't delete the email until trip is complete.)
