Lost my posts

For the second time since I have been posting on DIS, I have lost all my posts and have had to start over as a 'Welcome Guest'.

Does this happen a lot?

How do some of you manage to get a couple of thousand posts to your name without losing them?

(I have emailed webmaster to see if I can be reinstated)

Are you getting any sort of message? I just checked your account, you're original registration is still there and active - the problem is probably the cookies stored on your local machine. Try clearing them and then logging in to your original screen name from scratch and see if that works

You are not alone although I don't think I've been affected this time round.


I've lost 1000's of posts on this board and others after board outages and upgrades - it's just the "nature of the beast" i'm afraid.

There are well known strategies to increase your post count if you really want to but I think it looks obvious and very silly IMHO.

Tried that just now. - Makes no difference

Andrew, your other user name is just Andrew Bichard - no _ between the two names. Last post made was August 4th and you've 458 posts. Sound right?

As WMPenny says, your account name "Andrew Bichard" looks fine, all settings are good.

If you have trouble logging in to that account, just let us know and we'll do whatever we can to help!

I'm back!!!!

I didn't know I had two names on DIS. I remember losing my account name when I bought a new computer a couple of years back and had to start out fresh with a new name & password.

It seems as though I accidentally found my old acount again last week.
