Just wanted to get my words out on a page. On June 22nd I got a phone call from my dads wife saying that they are at the hospital they think it's his gallbladder. I wrote her back and told her to keep me update since I was in Cali and they were in Oregon. She later texted me and said it was his gallbladder and that my dad had a big gall stone the size of a golf ball it had to come out. But they were waiting on the heart doctor because my dad in the last year has had issues with his heart and also he had to anerisms that they had to go in a fix and put stints in. So my biggest worry was his heart. They got the surgeon there and took him for a routine removel of the gall bladder and the gall stone. He did great surgery went as well as expected. This is where it get complicated. While my dad was in recovery after they took him the vent to let him come out of the anestecia( please excuse my spelling) his breathing dropped and his blood pressure dropped so they reventalated him and his breathing came back up but his blood pressure didn't. So they started running more tests and found that he had a heart attack during recovery they brought in the cath lab and found a large blood clot had blocked the main atery they removed it and put a stint but it was to late by than the heart wasn't pumping enough blood to the brain. My dad went into renal failure and we had them take him off the vent because he wouldn't wanted to live that way and passed away a little after midnight on Thursday June 23rd. I am so heart broken I couldn't get to Oregon fast enough to say goodbye. I am so glad that I was able to call him on fathers day and tell him I loved him one last time. I miss him so much...Thank you all for just letting me put it down in words it's been a couple of weeks but it feels like it just happends.

So sorry for your loss.

If it makes you feel any better, I personally believe love is very, very powerful stuff. It transcends anything, withstands anything and has no need for goodbye. You will love your father forever and always, as does he you.

You'll have good days and bad days. It will get easier & the good days will gain more and more ground on the bad. Doesn't mean the smallest thing won't run you over unexpectedly, but you will get through it.

Daisy- I am so sorry for your loss. I understand what you are going through, I lost my Dad (also very suddenly) over two years ago. Take each day as it comes and don't deny yourself the time you need to grieve.

:grouphug: I am really so sorry to hear of your loss! I hope you are ok with the grieving part and am glad to hear that you spoke with him on Father's Day.

I'm so sorry! What a shock and such a sad series of events.

I'm so sorry. We had to make a similar decision for my mother back in December. I know how hard it is. You and your family are in my prayers.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my father in a very similar situation. Although I did not make it to his location in time to say goodbye, I talk to him all the time. OP, your father knows you love him.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad almost 3 years ago and while he was sick for a number of years with COPD, I didn't expect to lose him when we did. It's heartbreaking. Take care of yourself
