Lost half our BOG reservation thanks to MDE

After much searching, I was able to secure two different BOG dinner reservations on 5/21 @ 9:10pm. I didn't like that we'd miss Wishes, so I've continued searching for earlier reservations during our trip. If we found one, great! if not, we'd see Wishes another night. So tonight a reservation for 4 popped up at 8:20pm. I figured I'd grab it and try to get another, but if we had to we'd split up for the meal and hope we'd dine together a bit if they could seat the second party early. Of course, MDE wanted me to cancel my old reservation, so I did, thinking that we definitely had the new reservation. It also wanted me to update my CC info, so I did. Click submit and got "Sorry for the paws" :mad: Tried to get my old reservation back, but nope it was gone too. So now we only have one reservation for 4 people. I don't know what Disney's problem is with technology. Why is their stuff always so subpar? With all of the money they have a geniuses they could hire, they should have a system in place that only cancels out the old reservation after the new one has been confirmed. Its incredibly infuriating. So I guess its back to searching 789,525,873 times a day to try and secure another BOG reservation :sad2:
 
I'd suggest keeping an eye out for your lost reservation coming back online. I feel like I've seen people mention that once it's cancelled, it takes a little time to show as available again.

I could be misremembering and I haven't dealt with it myself, so take it with as few grains of salt as you'd like, but I feel like I've read that, so wanted to mention it.

Thanks for the suggestion! Decided to go back and check one more time (cause I checked like a mad woman for about 30 minutes after) and the 8:20 was there! I guess the 9:10 might still be floating around if anyone is looking for that date!!
 
In that situation, they usually show up 60 minutes later. The paws situation is ridiculous, they know about the issue but can't fix it. I say can't, because if they could, they would and they wouldn't be inundated with complaints about it.
 

Try the reservation finder on touring plans.com. It's been so helpful for us. We booked only 1 month ahead of our trip and I have prime seating times for BOG, Cali Grill, Narcooses, Ohana, GF tea, Sci Fi and others. We even found a CRT!
