Lost front teeth! Still gonna eat-UPDATED 7/22- FINISHED!

We also had Tim as our server at Flying Fish! He is so awesome! Like your DH, I found the signature snapper very disappointing. I didn't think the veal demi glace matched well...at all, actually...with the fish? I thought maybe this was an "off " night, maybe the sauce was a little burned, since so many of MY favorite reviewers rave about this dish?! I have to say, everything else we tried there...and we tried several more dishes than your family, since we were 4 hungry gluttons...was excellent. The mussels were the best we have ever tasted, by FAR! However, my DD was a little bit disappointed with her scallops because they weren't as perfect as the scallops at AP, and DS didn't love his salmon as much as the salmon dish at CG...so even though it was mostly excellent, we end up ranking FF at the lower end of the signatures we've tried. Like you, we will try to return one day when we stay in the BW area. Next time, I will stay away from the snapper. In the meantime, we continue to dream about the mussels.

And Marrakesh...I agree that Bastilla is NOT good! At all!

We will have to try the mussels next time we go to FF since you are one of the reviewers I look to for opinions on what's good.:goodvibes We will definitley try FF again since the service was so great and I really liked the restaurant. But on our list of favorite signatures it is below Citricos, Artist Point, and Cali Grill.

We were so disappointed with the bastilla. I had been looking forward to some good Morrocan dessert. Next time we will get the baklavas.:thumbsup2

Enjoying your reviews! I have a six year old as well, I can't wait for him to lose those two front teeth, so cute! Brianna looks like a sweetie!

Thanks so much for reading. I bet it won't be long until your little one loses his front teeth too. Make sure to take lots of pictures without his teeth.

Aw, thanks for the compliment!

Yes, the baklavas were awesome! The mint ice cream with fruit was also surprisingly good. Very refreshing.

I'm so glad to hear you liked the baklavas. The ice cream looks appealing too. I think there are only 3 choices on Marrakesh's lunch dessert menu. Boy did we make the wrong choice!

I think bresaola isn't supposed to really be dry like leather. My mom used to make it, i think she started with flank steak, and seasoned and stuffed it in a particular italian way. It always came out sort of stringy and...not moist...but not dry like jerky. Anyway, I wouldn't want it on a flatbread, either. :sad1: Sorry your CG experience wasn't great.

I think you're thinking of braciole ("bra-jule"), which is stuffed flank steak.

Love the reviews! I have to say, you gave Flying Fish a better grade than my husband and I did. We were thoroughly underwhelmed - there were a couple of good points but the bad outweighed them.

What a shame to feel under the weather at WDW! DH and I both had colds on our last trip so we took it slow.

We were disappointed by our meal at Flying Fish too. We had thought it would be one of the best of the trip. Maybe the next one will be better.:goodvibes

It is a bummer to feel sick on vacation. The last time we went to Disneyland I had a bad cold, but I went on and did things. Since I was throwing up, I was stuck in the room one whole day. At least it was only one day and not the whole trip.

Earl of Sandwich

We headed out that evening to Downtown Disney with the idea of eating dinner at Earl of Sandwich. It was really cold for late April and there weren't that many people out shopping.

Brian decided on the Full Montagu.

I didn't get a bite:sad2:, but Brian said this sandwich was really good with lots of roast beef.

I chose the Hawaiin BBQ (and I did share a taste with him:littleangel:).

I loved this sandwich! It had chicken, ham, cheese, bbq sauce, and pineapple that tasted fresh, not from the can. Great flavor combinations.:thumbsup2

Here's my grade of Earl of Sandwich-

Atmosphere- B

I wish the seating area were just a little larger at the Earl of Sandwich. Even on a slow night we had to search for a seat.

Service- B-

I know it's just going through a line and ordering, but the service at Earl has never been the friendliest. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the Disney customer service.:confused3

Value- A

With chips and drinks our sandwiches were $17.85. I saved $1.85 by showing my Annual Pass.

Quality- A+

I've never had a bad sandwich here and this meal continued that trend.

The overall grade for Earl of Sandwich will be

A-

Next we stopped over at Goofy's Candy Company.

Earl of Sandwich always looks great - I don't know how I'd be able to pick just one sandwich! :)

Goofy's Candy Co.

We skipped dessert at Earl of Sandwich so after a bit of shopping we headed into Goofy's Candy Co. We were the only ones in the store. So we took our time choosing. Brianna's stomach was still cramping, but she insisted she could eat a cookie. After much debate she chose this cookie because it said "I Love Mom" on it.

I was honored that Brianna thought of me when chosing her cookie, but I tried to encourage her to get something else because I didn't think the cookie looked like it would taste good. I was right, it didn't taste good. Instead of being a sugar cookie, it was more like a shortbread cookie. It was very heavy with a strong taste of baking soda. We all took one bite of this cookie, and then it was thrown away. Sad a better cookie couldn't have been made to honor mothers.

Brian loves oatmeal raisin cookies, but almost didn't get this one because it was so small for the price. He got it anyway and enjoyed it.

I chose the pretzel dipped in reese's pieces. Mine was by far the best of the three. Yummy to look at and eat!

Up next will be lunch at Peco's Bills.

"Sad a better cookie couldn't have been made to honor mothers."

I am sorry your daughter's stomach hurt and that the cookie was bad, but that line just gave me a good giggle for the day :thumbsup2

Glad I could made you have a good giggle.:goodvibes

I wish Brianna had felt better, but by this time I was just thankful that she had stopped vomitting.

I was thinking that this is typical that Moms would get a crappy cookie. I bet the Father's Day cookie will be totally awesome and the kids will think it is the coolest.:rotfl:

Everything at Goofy's Candy Company looks good (even though the Mother's Day cookie sounds disappointing). I'm definitely interested in trying that pretzel eventually! :goodvibes

That Mother's Day cookie is so cute! Too bad it didn't taste good! And I love oatmeal raisin cookies, they're the best!

PECOS BILL'S"]

We ended up deciding to cancel all of our reservations for Tuesday. We had orginally planned on an early breakfast at Park Fair, but since Brianna had no appetite at all we decided that I cancelled it within the now required 24 hours notice. I was disappointed since I love the character meals, but we will try it on a future trip. Also, I cancelled our lunch at Tony's. Brian just said he wasn't in the mood for Italian food.

So we ended up at Pecos Bill's since we were over on that side of the park. I hesitate to share our pictures since we've seen Pecos Bill's pictures a lot, but here is Brian's burger and my taco salad.

We enjoyed these while we were eating them. Brian's burger was huge and he had loaded it up at the topping bar. I really liked my taco salad as well, but by mid afternoon I was beginning to feel sick at my stomach. I'm not sure if I should blame this on the stomach virus that I developed the next day or the taco salad. But I have read reports here that the taco salad has upset some others stomachs. In its defense I did load it up with onions so that might have been the culprit.

Atmosphere- C

Pecos Bill's is not the most inviting place to eat. It is usually quite crowded and very dark.

Value- B-

Our bill with drinks came up to $26.79. Not a bad price for theme park food, but we could have eaten at the Plaza or Liberty Tree Tavern for nearly the same price.

Quality- B- Brian liked his burger and I liked my taco salad while I was eating it, but didn't feel too good later.

My overall grade of Pecos Bill's will be a

C

Pecos Bill's is okay for a quick lunch, but there are much better places to eat at the Magic Kingdom.

Up next will be the Hollywood Brown Derby
