I just realized now that Lost is taking a several-month break, GF and I will have nothing to watch wednesday nights. We usually have long work/school days wednesday and really look forward to getting a few friends together and watching lost with some pizza and beer. Now what are we going to do ...?

Top Chef (also a great show) is on at 10, so we'll be watching that, but what to watch at 9? What are you guys going to do?

I'm going to check out Daybreak which is going to be running in Lost's place for 13 weeks. I'm not sure if I'll like it or not.

I don't like how they set up the mid-season break. I'd much rather have lost repeats than no lost at all.

Do you have netflix?
There are some good series out on DVD

We'll give Daybreak a shot. If it's a dud we'll just be down a show. More time to catch up on the shows we recorded earlier in the week. :thumbsup2

Medium starts this Wednesday @ 9pm. Great show! I also watch (record) The Biggest Loser. So, Wednesday will still be busy.

I think Medium moved to Wed's so I'll watch that. I have no desire to watch Daybreak, someone living the same day over and over again? No thanks. Hating the break Lost is on!

I will give Daybreak a shot and continue my normal dvr watching of Criminal Minds.

What? Tell me!!!! If I cant find something good to watch I might just have to buy a library and move in!

Ohhh and 8pm wednesdays is Jericho which is not too bad!

I will be watching Top Chef on Bravo. We normally tape it on the DVR and watch it later. Now, we might as well just watch it when it comes on.

My DVD player broke a few months ago and I finally bought a new one last night.
I will be watching the first and 2nd season of LOST. And I will try and catch up on all the videos I got when I was sick and never really watched all the way through. I kept falling asleep and got the idea of the plot but never really saw them through.
I am not going to get involved in the new show because if I like it then it will be another let down when they take it off to put LOST back. But I am a loyal LOST fan and can't wait each week for it to come on. This will kill me waiting till Feb. Peggie

May I suggest "Curb Your Enthusiasm?" I've been working on that. Ok, well it's not for everyone - it is like improvised Seinfeld. Actually, that's exactly what it is. I love it. If you don't get HBO, like me, there is a lot of good series on DVD that ran on HBO.

Lost is one of only 2 shows that I watch. I'm can always use that time to do other things, especially during the holidays, you know?

We'll try Day Break and see if that's any good. It sounds like it would lose my interest pretty fast, but I'm giving it a shot.

I'm picky about my tv viewing, so I can always read if nothing else.

We'll check out Day Break. Many series take a break during December and January, though few as long as Lost is taking, still a lot of shows will be in reruns. This includes Boston Legal, and Battlestar Galactica for Thanksgiving; ER, Criminal Minds, House, Veronica Mars for four weeks in December into January; Brothers and Sisters, and Grey's Anatomy for three weeks; and Bones for six weeks out of the next eight.

Besides catching reruns of series that we didn't catch the first time around due to conflicts, there are also a few other alternatives that are presenting themselves: The Lost Room (a mini-series on Sci-Fi), and Sleeper Cell (running on eight consecutive nights in early/mid-December). Also, we might buy the DVDs for a series we missed, perhaps Numb3rs.

Hopping over to Jericho for the short term. Otherwise the TIVO of Veronica Mars,Bone,Heroes and House

We saw previews for Daybreak but were not impressed (looks like an action-adventure repeat of Groundhog Day to me). How is Jericho? GF and I watched one episode but didn't really get into it... are there a lot of sci-fi/mystery elements, or is it mostly a drama (emphasis on character development)? I like sci-fi/mystery myself. I also would rather not watch it if it seems like its taking on a serious religious tone (tho Lost verges on this, too). What other series (rentable on DVD) might be good for hardcore lost lovers?

Check out this thread and see if anything appeals to you

HBO's Rome (not suitable for children) -is my current addicition.
I have also rented some of the BBC productions (I love mysteries) like "Midsomer Murders" and "Poirot"

There are lots of PBS things available- right now I have "The American President" (A documentary that profiles every American President) there are about 5 discs to that series.

If you like romance some of the "Bollywood" movies are fun like "Bride and Prejudice" and "Bollywood Queen"

ABC has pretty much admitted to us that Daybreak is going to stink. They were pumping it last week by dangling the teaser of a few seconds of Lost previews each week   . I don't think I'll fall for that old trick, so I won't be watching Groundhog Day II -errrr - Daybreak.

We used to watch Medium, so maybe we'll tune into that tomorrow night :confused3 . If not, my Blockbuster queue overrunneth.

Jericho is doing basically the same thing. Episode 11 will be on November 29; Episode 12 will be on February 21.
