Anyone lose their eyeglasses/sunglasses on any rides? My daughter wears glasses and is worried they'll fall off on coasters, TOT, etc. The rest of us wear contacts so it's not as much of a concern. Any experience with this? I don't think she'd go for the string around the neck.

Never had a problem with mine, but I don't do coasters. I've only been brave enough to do BTMRR. But I have done the ToT, MS and Primeval Whirl without loosing my glasses.

You trip is real soon! Wow! Hope you have a wonderful time.

I take my glasses off, put them in the case and zip the case into my waist pack. I wouldn't try TOT or RNR wearing them.

My father has worn his glasses on every ride in both WDW & Universal, and has never had a problem. He said the only ride that made him feel a little nervous about it was the Hulk at IOA. So, the second time we rode that one, we just made sure to leave them in the free lockers they provide. But, he had absolutely no problems on any of the Disney rides/attractions!

Try seeing if you can find something she'd like here:

I wear glasses, and I want to be able to see on the rides. I only worry on RnR and Space Mountain, so I wear a thing around my head to hold them on. TOT is no problem. The only time I've ever lost my glasses was on a Disney bus!! I had on my prescription sunglasses, but my case with my regular glasses fell to the floor of the bus and I didn't realize it until the bus drove away. Fortunately the bus came back around, and I got them back. I also almost lost my glasses in the wave pool at TL even though I had on the strap thing. Fortunately we were able to find them on the bottom of the pool. I don't wear glasses in that pool ever anymore :).

I have since learned to put a name label on the glasses case with my name, phone, and address info AND my Disney resort/dates on it. I do the same thing with my purse and camera.

DS and I wear glasses and have done TOT and RnRRC. We've always worn them, and I actually never thought not too!

You might get an eyeglass strap that ties around the back of your neck. I use one because without my glasses I can't see the ride details in rides like Splash Mountain.

Be careful with straps that have little metal links in them, somettimes the links are not tight and fall apart. Before you leave home you can tighten up such links with a pair of pliers.

My husband lost his glasses from the case in his shirt pocket while riding Space Mountain. When I ride the coasters, etc. I use 1 hand to hold my glasses on, this includes Space Mountain, RNR, and Thunder Mountain.

We just got back tonight, and the only time I was really worried about my glasses was on RNR. I didnt take them off for anything, except that one. When we first took off, I felt them start to go do I grabbed them really quick and held them in my hand...other than that no problems...

Like Kile eI actually never thought not to. I wear glasses and have done Space Mountain TOT and RnRC. I've always worn them.

If your daughter has her glasses properly fitted, there is not much of a way they can come off naturally. If it will ease her mind you may want to consider taking her in just to get them tightened to face (readjusted). We all spring our temples out in the normal course of taking them off and putting them on day in and day out. An ounce of prevention.
