My roommate left his wallet somewhere the other day while we were out shopping. We tore the house apart and re-traced our steps for the day, but it's gone. Fortunately, there had been no activity on any of his credit cards when he called to cancel them. Whoever found it must have been satisfied with just the cash. The bummer is that now he needs to rebuild his life and replace everything else he had in it (driver's license, AAA card, Sam's Club card, health insurance ID, etc.)
His DVC Member card is gone, too. I called Member Services yesterday to get it replaced, and was told it will take six to eight weeks for the new card to arrive. We're leaving for our "first time home" vacation in 24 days.
I looked through the folder I kept with our closing documents and found the temporary ID cards they'd sent us when we first joined. Do you think he'll have any problems using this for the upcoming trip?
The thing I'm most concerned with is picking up the annual passes we bought at the DVC Member rate. It sounds like they're pretty strict with these to ensure only members get the discount. There aren't any dates on the temporary ID so I assume it's still valid, but I wonder if they'll think something is hinky that I have a permanent blue card and he has a temporary paper one.
Am I fretting about nothing?
