Lost Child at DL

Before our recent trip with our DGS and DGD, we purchased the ID bracelets that they could wear on their wrists. Beside their names, we put our cell phone numbers on them, knowing we all had our phones with us. I can imagine your panic though as I had a similiar experience when I took our DGS over to the DCA Redwood challenge trail. It was after dark and my 1st time there (the DGS had been there several times during the week). He headed up the rope climbs and across the bridges in no time at all and was gone. I couldn't find him at all. After what seemed like forever, he came running back down the trail without a care in the world and really enjoying himself. It's tough being a parent or grandparent!

That is so scary. We are really obsessive about keeping Adam in his stroller while in Disneyland or holding his hand at all times because he just runs off the minute he's "free". It's fine at home in our mall where nobody goes but at disneyland it's just scary :( Glad to hear it all worked out though.

I saw a panicked mom searching for her son at the new scream theater in DCA yesterday. A cast member was following her to help out but the mom was to upset to answer any question he was asking her. They were headed down towards the rapids ride. My kids and I saw this little boy - maybe 1 1/2 years old running around. After asking a few adults if he was with them I grabbed his hand and headed back to the theater to give him to a cast member. Well mom had turned around and started running towards her son and grabbed him from me. Great I though she would be so excited to see him..... was I ever wrong. She turned him upside down, pulled down his pants including his diaper and spanked his little bottom very hard. I was in shock and pulled my kids away quickly. I understand her frustration and panic and anger that her little boy ran away BUT you don't 'beat' a little boy like that when he can't fully understand what he did was wrong. Mom should be the one getting spanked not the little boy. She continued to yell at him as well. I was hoping the cast members might intervene and it was not my place to do so but nothing happened... Hopefully her day and his was much better....
