We checked out of room 3119 at Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek on Sunday July 21 and left behind Teddy, the bear that was given to my great grandson at his adoption ceremony. I had Teddy packed but grandson got him and was playing in the closet with him. I'm pretty sure he put Teddy in the safe. I filled out the report and attached pictures and keep checking my email several times a day. I'm so upset I couldn't speak to the resort! What are the chance that Disney follows through and actually looks for Teddy? Anyone had good luck?

I have not had good experiences with getting my lost item back from resorts.
Both times were at Boardwalk Villas and I barely made it to waiting Magical Express (at that time) I knew I forgot a favorite item of clothing and knew exactly where it was.
Got the runaround from the resort and never got the item back. IMPOSSIBLE. Second time was a personal special (expensive) hair dryer I left in the washroom drawer. Again, within 15 minutes of leaving I contacted the resort. NOPE...they couldn't find either item. IMPOSSIBLE. Now I'm neurotic about going over the room 3 times.

I'm very sorry about Teddy. Believe me, we take stuffed animals...especially a child's favorite...very seriously and it makes me sick to think you might not get it back. I feel there is NO excuse whatsoever that an item can't be returned to the renter when they know darn well who stayed in that room on what day and checked out what time. Nope. No excuse. Makes me upset just to think about Teddy. Disney, get your act together.

I once got a stuffie back from RIV same day. Personally I’d hold out some hope but start planning the best replacement you can. Talking to the resort directly would literally do you no good. All items turned it are processed through a central location unless you get recover it on the day of loss from my understanding.

Thanks, I won't give up hope yet. Something that special, we should have left at home.

We’ve had a toiletry bag that we left in our CR room mailed to us. And a cell phone returned that was lost at the parks.

I hope they get Teddy back to you! 🫰

Just wanted to give you some hope by sharing our good experience. We left behind a Kindle that we're pretty sure slipped behind a mattress. We didn't notice for a few days and originally weren't sure which resort (split stay) we even left it at. It did take a few days, but we were notified it was found and it was sent back to us quickly. Fortunately it was not a sentimental item, but I like to think your chances with Teddy are even better. Please keep us posted.

We have gotten things back several times (mostly lost Magic Bands). Hope Teddy finds his way home.

Did you fill in the lost item form on the Disney website? I left my keys at BWI last September - they fell out of my bag while I was packing and must have ended up under the bed or something. I could see that they were there (Tile tag) so I filled in the form and got an automated message that they would look. Two days later "sorry not found, we'll keep looking" message. A few days later "we found them would you like us to send them back?" message. I was able to track them home and got them about 2 weeks after we left BWI. I was so incredibly impressed. It wasn't so much the keys as I could replace those but they were on a silver keychain that has sentimental value to me so I was thrilled to get them back.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge in February, and they were ah-mazing in retrieving a stuffed animal my daughter left. It was from her grandmother that had recently passed away and was super special. They were super responsive. I followed the same process you did and heard back right away and picked up the stuffed animal on our way to the airport the next day (we were visiting family in FL after we checked out). It can happen. I hope Teddy finds his way home!

I received an email this morning saying that they have not located my lost item but would keep the information on file. Argh! I'm not giving up hope but for Lord's sake, all they had to do was look in the room safe like I asked them to. To make matters worse, my grandson has the flu and wants his Teddy. We are currently looking for a replacement. Thank you all for your uplifting support! I will let you know if I hear anything else.

One month ago today, we accidently left Teddy behind at Wilderness Lodge. Today we received an email that Teddy had been found!!! We are thrilled! We had found a replacement and tried to pass him off as Teddy, but grandson knew, something about the stitching on his head, LOL. A huge thanks to the Lost and Found department at Disney World! They are shipping him to us as I type this and we are so grateful. Thank you all again for your support.

Hooray!
Thanks for the update. I've been legitimately wondering and hoping for the best since your original post.

I know this is a stretch but I have an idea. Years ago we left my son's stuffed bear on a plane. They could never find it and he was sick and always took it to the hospital. I was just frantic.

The bear was a gift and I was not sure who actually gave the bear to my son. I did have pictures and a couple of them showed the little tag but no clear writing to trace the bear. I put the photos of the bear out on facebook and sure enough someone recognized it and told me the manufacturer. I called and was able to order a new one. Actually, I ordered 2 now that I think of it.

I did have to put the stuffed animals through the washer and dryer a whole lot to make them look worn.

I hope the hotel finds your little guy's bear.

She commented yesterday that Disney found it.

So happy you found Teddy! 💜
We lost another item at Grand Floridian last weekend, and Disney successfully found it for us. Their Lost and Found system is amazing!

Hooray for Teddy! I bet he will be glad to be home from his big adventure!
I really felt your pain reading this... My daughter and her Bunny just went off to college together!
