Hi Everyone,

I went to the Party last night and I was alright but not great with the food. I ate a little bit of everything (chicken parm, chicken francese, baked ziti, eggplant parm, and sausage and peppers) and 1 piece of bread with a little bit of butter. I wanted seconds of the food but did not take it. They also had beer and wine and drinks at the party but I was good and stuck with water. As far as desert went I could have been better. I took a piece of cake and ate like 3 bites of it. They also had M&M candies on the table and I had 2 small handfuls of them. Then at the end they had cotton candy and I took a little bit of my son's. The good thing was that I danced most of the night so maybe that helped a little. I also did not get a chance to exercise yesterday and with today being Easter I don't think I will have a chance to exercise today.

Today being Easter will be hard for me with the food and candy. I will just have to make sure to enjoy myself but not to go overboard. Everything in moderation.

Well I have to go, I have a million things to do to get ready for my company today.

Happy Easter everyone,

Loralie

I think you did a great job turning down seconds. Party situations are difficult to handle, but it looks like you did well. And really who can turn down cotton candy. It's sugar spun heaven in my book. Good job with the water too. I don't think a lot of people realize how many calories they drink and beer is loaded with empty calories.

Happy Easter everyone and good luck staying away from or moderately enjoying those treats.

:love:Happy Easter Everyone and I hope everyone is safe and sound this holiday season. I totally agree with loralie everything in moderation. That is what I am going to try to do today. Have a great day and enjoy. :grouphug:

Today wasn't bad but my workout got a bit messed up. I wasn't able to get away until lunch time and the gym was pretty busy then.

Breakfast was a protein shake with a pair of bananas, lunch was a mix of chicken, pork and steak with broccoli and a protein shake. Dinner was salisbury steak with cauliflower and a very small serving of potatoes.

The workout was a bit weak since I had already done physical labor for four hours (not a normal part of my work day) moving an office around. Squats, bench press, situps, pulldowns, calf raises and a 5' run. :goodvibes

So I get home after work and what's waiting? Easter candy! Umm, hello? Diet? Working out? My willpower is great as long as I don't have the temptation in the house. It might be more truthful to say say that my laziness is stronger than the temptation. Putting Easter candy (a giant chocolate rabbit) on the place mat of someone dieting is like giving a recovering alcoholic a shot of whiskey while saying you're being supportive. :sad2:

I have not exercised today as my DD6 has been vomiting since last night. But, it also makes me not want to eat anything (healthy or otherwise).
You gotta do what you gotta do. I've never felt like eating when I'm helping someone sick either.

I have a membership to Golds Gym that I never use. I justify keeping it--because now it's only $10 a month. I am hitting it to do the weight machines. I think you have the right idea.
Machines, free weights or even just pure cardio. All are better than sitting on the sofa. Start easy and increase as you can. You'll never finish the journey if you don't start. :thumbsup2

Progress is progress. You were good on the meal and with the drinks, don't beat yourself up, simply try harder next time on the desserts. No one always succeeds the first time, it's the last time you try that really counts.

Okay so basement is clean and we are thankful that we are all okay and thanks guys! So Easter is over... and I am very very proud of myself.

I FINALLY REMEMBERED TO WEIGH IN ABOUT AN HOUR AGO AND WHAT WAS THE NUMBER :confused3

i have been "eating healthy" now for three weeks and half lost half a stone (i'm from UK!!)... sorry 8lb!!
all i have done is cut out all my snacking on biscuits (COOKIES!!) and crisps (POTATO CHIPS!!)
i was also unhappy with my disney pics from last year!!

my favorite thing to track my progress is this website....
http://www.sparkpeople.com/

i input everything i eat and it calculates my calorie/carb/fat etc intake
i also add my measurements and weight and have a 'blog' page its a fab site and really keeps me motivated!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!:banana::banana:

Thanks for the recommendation!:thumbsup2

I am so excited I just had to tell ya'll! you know how I said my co-workers were saying I all my slacks looked so baggy? Well, this morning, I thought, "I'm going to try on a pair of smaller jeans" you know, the ones you keep tucked away in the back of your closet? Well, guess what? I put them on and even they are baggy in the legs! Whaaahooo!!! The waist is just a little too big so I can still wear them for a little while but I am so excited.:thumbsup2 I just lost 15 punds but when you are short, it makes a huge difference. Oh, and now I have bird legs! You know, the little old ladies you see at the beach who are thick through the middle and have stick legs? Well, mine are bigger than sticks but you get the picture!:rotfl2:Now all I need are a bunch of cats! No offense to cat lovers - i love all animals!:lovestruc
Thanks for keeping my spirits up. Thanks for being here.

That's awesome! I am so happy for you!

Congradulations Lisa!!!

I am glad to hear that you and your family are safe.

We had some of the storms that caused those tonados in the southern part of Va as well, but we didn't get hit nearly as bad as other folks did.

I hope you all had a
HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Just thought that I would stop in for a few, before going to bed for the night. I kinda fell off the eating well wagon this weekend. I ate junk food all weekend, but tomarrow is the start of a new week and I am going to eat better and walk more.

It is so encouraging to have all of you rooting everyone on!:cheer2:

It hard when you try to do things by yourself--I think that is why weight watchers is so successful. We all sorta/kinda know what we need to do but it just so helps when you have others to cheer you on!

I gained over the Easter holiday--the yellow marshmallow peeps got me!:confused3

I'm committing to tracking everything that goes into my mouth this coming week! No more yellow peeps! Good luck all!:yay:

I think that having people that you can turn to who understand, people to cheer you on and hold your self accountable too is a huge help.

I am dreading the scale myself tomarrow, way too much junk in general over the holiday..especially Cadbury Cream Eggs. Those things are my down fall :headache:

Oh the dreaded scale day. I'm trying to remind myself it's not all about the number. I've been walking a lot so if I don't see it go down it may mean I've swapped fat for muscle. Food wise I've been doing great. I watch what I eat and I've really cut back of sweets and chips and all that stuff I love. I did great at the buffet yesterday. I did have a slice of cheesecake, but I piled the berries on top of it. I think my body is getting use to all this water. I've noticed is I don't drink a lot I start feeling icky. Well good luck today everyone.

Has anyone here seen Office Space where they destroy the office equipment with the baseball bat.
For some reason I keep picture all of us in the scene except its a bunch of scales .... :lmao:

I hate my scale so much because (dumb me sent hubby to buy it) and well he got one that announces the weight (* I mean LOUDLY)
So I spent an hour trying to figure out how to make it silent and you know what YOU CAN'T SHUT IT UP! :scared1:

Well ladies who were hit by the "Peeps" and the "Cadibury" Bunny. You'll be just fine. Those who ignored the HUGE Solid Milk Chocolate Bunny (*thanks "GiGi) and just watched everyone else eat while you munched on something healthy Good Job....

"Temptation is an act that looks appealing to an individual. It is usually used to describe acts with negative connotations and as such, tends to lead a person to regret such actions." Be not tempted by those nasty junk foods but raise up and challenge yourself!

Good Morning all: :goodvibes So happy to hear Lisa & her family are all safe and Congrats Lisa on the weight loss. I am happy Easter is over. Of course I ate a little too much:rotfl2:. So today I am back to counting calories :thumbsup2. For some reason when the kids are off from school I have a much harder time sticking to a schedule with eatingpopcorn::. Plus it is so hard to find the time to exercise :yay:. I just have to do it. Tomorrow we are headed into the city and I am hoping on getting a lot of walking in to burn some calories. Have a good day:banana:.

Muscle will help you in the long run as well. It seems like I have read somewhere that for ever pound of muscle that you have you burn more calories. Good luck on your scale day :goodvibes

Lisa that is so funny :lmao: but true I could defintly see bashing a scale with a baseball bat!

You are a better woman than me, I would have bashed a scale that said my weight out loud. ;)

Love the quote!

Well everyone I have done much better today calorie wise and I did the yoga program on FitTV today.

Yoga is hard, I have not reached the level of coordination needed to hold all the poses. I was falling all over the place but I finished the program un injured. :lmao: It is true miracles happen every day. :rotfl2:

So I did alright today little over on calories (1250 calories) but I worked out really well today: 45 minutes Cardio and 30 minutes of Strength

So went a little over on calories today but had a craving and didn't want it to get out of hand so I went a head and had one homemade "Philly cheese steak." It cost me for the full meal w/ broccoli 680 Calories but I am full and feel okay with it.
:happytv: Now I am laughing and watching TV. And then I am gonna workout again (yoga) before I get ready for bed.

:confused3How's everyone doing? :confused3

:rolleyes1Well hope all is well ... Have a healthy wonderful night.

The scale is not my friend. One lousy pound is all I've lost? You have got to be kidding. I'm not throwing in the towel just yet. Still watching what I eat and still resisting the chocolate that is all over my house. Dh is out of town for the week so instead of my walk outside I did 10 min. wii boxing and 30 min free step. I am so bummed. I just want to lose this weight and I feel I'm really giving it my all. Maybe this week will be better.

I strongly suggest you have multiple methods of measuring progress. That way, if your weight stalls for a bit, you'll still see progress in other areas and know that your efforts aren't for nothing. Consider keeping a chart of certain measurements and compare weekly not just weight but those measurements as well as how much effort you're putting into your workouts.

Progress can be measured in weight lost, body fat lost, reduction in an area measured or an improvement in your workout. There's probably some other ways of measuring progress as well. Just using one method can be demoralizing when it doesn't change much for a week or two.

you are all my inspiration... I have not had a good healthy week... this Easter candy is way to tempting... and being on vacation its hard...

but at dinner last night I did have a salad....and only 1/2 a sandwich for lunch... but then there were some jelly beans, a few pecan/carmel clusters... and a glass of wine.... but this morning I took my little two year old niece for a walk on the beach.... it was fun.. not much exercise...but fun.... today we are off to another baseball game.....then a picnic with the baseball team...
