Losing this weight, one pound at a time

Okay, so here we go again. Another attempt at weight loss. I've been down this road before and it hasn't gone to well. But I feel like this time I am finally ready to do this.
 
I've decided to switch my weigh-in days from Mondays to Fridays so I can weigh in with the Peeps on the DISappearing Peeps thread. They seem like a wonderful group and so far have been very welcoming. When it comes to weight loss I just think you cannot have too much support.

So that means I weighed in this morning. I am down 1.4 pounds since Monday. Not bad, I guess. I say that because I've been slacking off on doing any exercising lately and I know if I would just do that it would probably be even more. I guess that can be my goal for the next week, get off my butt and move more. LOL Also to cut back on the diet soda. It's so bad for me and I really need to be drinking more water. Especially in this heat.

I'm going to the movies tonight. Going to see Wall-E with the family. That means popcorn!! popcorn:: Bad, bad, hot buttered yummy popcorn. :rolleyes: Calling my name. Tempting me. Teasing me. :eek: What to do, what to do.

I think I will make sure to have something to eat before we leave and bring in a cold bottle of water with me. Then maybe a baggie so I can take some out of the tub and only eat what fits in a small baggie. That sounds like a plan to me. Otherwise I could easily eat an entire large popcorn all on my own!! :rolleyes1

Hopefully the movie will be so entertaining that I won't even think about popcorn. :)
 
Hi, Beth. Welcome to the WISH journals!

I feel you on the weight loss journey, except that I have never been told I should be a model, not even when I was young!:rotfl2: I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant, but I can't claim that it's baby weight anymore, because my baby is 20! Anyway, there is lots of support here and you will be glad you decided to start a journal. It really helps when you get frustrated or discouraged to come here and type it out, at least it really helps me.

Sounds like a great plan you have for dealing with snacking at the movies. I am looking forward to seeing Wall-E, too, so I'll be interested to hear how you and your family liked it!

Hi Susan, thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to finally getting this weight off and it will be nice to have lots of support.

Oh, and as for being told you look like a model, it's not really a good thing. Well, it wasn't for me. Maybe if I'd had a higher self esteem back then, but for me it just added to the pressure I already felt to stay thin no matter what. Hence, my screwy relationship with food.

But that's the past, and I plan to focus on the here and now. One day at a time, one meal at a time. :thumbsup2

I've got my items ready to bring to the movie tonight and I will let you know how we like it. :)

Well, we are back from Wall-E! Loved it!! Great movie, so cute and lots of emotion. I'd definitely recommend it.

As for the popcorn, well, I had more then I should have. AND we went out for Mexican afterwards, but I'm not worried about it. It's only one night and I know I can get back on track again tomorrow.

I think that's the difference for me this time around. Knowing that mistakes are ok as long as I get back on track. Before I'd just give up and that's not going to get me anywhere.

I did stay away from the soda in the theater which is one of my goals. To ditch the soda!
