Our ROFR was sent to Disney Sept 14th. WE still have not heard anything about it. Is this normal? What is the average time frame? And how long does it usually take after the ROFR? Thanks for your help because this is driving me crazy.

Disney has 30 days to review a purchase for ROFR. If you have not heard anything, I'd expect it has passed and is in the process - BUT - I would also contact the broker you are working with to see what timeframe you should be expecting at this point. DVC does not contact the buyer about ROFR, only the seller - so the process may be further along than you realize.

Good luck! :)

I just went back and looked at my old threads when I bought mt first contract through resale to see the timeframe. Because it felt like I waited forever. My ROFR went on October 31st and I did not close until January 21st. That was not normal but I remember the waiting and wondering. Good Luck and I hope you hear something soon.

That is the problem with resale. Yes, you save some money, but the wait and stress are very difficult. I would suggest finding something to occupy your time, get a new Disney book, or look over all your Disney vacation pictures. It will be over..in due time, hang in there and good luck :thumbsup2

It took 32 days for my ROFR to be waived. NOT NORMAL!

So if WDW does not exercise their ROFR by the 30 day mark does that mean that they lose that right? About how long does it take to complete the paperwork once you pass the ROFR? The sellers seem to be on top of things. Getting paperwork in the day they receive it, just some background info for you.

No.They do not lose the ROFR...I asked my sales agent the same thing. I was told they would put a rush on the closing. Sixteen days later I received closing docs. FedExd everything the following work day(this past Monday). (I paid cash and my sellers have also been on top of things) Still waiting.....

My contract for BVC was submitted a week later than yours and I just found out today that it passed (Sept 21 sent to ROFR and passed Oct 18). However, I considered it held up as in that time the contract was revised and sent back to ROFR.

Since Disney does not notify the buyer directly, have you been in touch with your agent? I would really want to make sure that the answer you are waiting for is not sitting in someone's email box.

Good luck with good news coming your way quickly!

Mine took less than 2 weeks to pass ROFR for a BCV contract last month. Seems very odd that yours is taking so long:confused3 I would be going nuts (and calling every third day to check with my agent)

Did you think your BCV contract would have no problem passing based on your price? I thought that my price ($88 per point) might have just been on the border of what might be ROFR'd. That's what made me nervous more than anything... I was imagining Disney hanging on to it 'just incase' someone walked in and wanted to buy that use year/points. :scared:

I sent mine on 21st September. Hadn't heard back by 19th October, so I called them. They said they'd mailed the waiver back on the 15th. Maybe they don't post their mail very quickly. It could be worth asking the seller to give them a call.

Just heard about mine Wed.....took 8 days.
New to this, so not sure what is normal. Now to wait for closing

Just got the word that we passed the ROFR!!! OK, well we heard Friday but I'm just now done celebrating to post it. Our pts were right in the mid to upper range from $/pts passed, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. Keep your fingers crossed that our closing process isn't working at the same pace.

I see below you passed, congratulations. Let me answer this question for others that might be interested. As TLSnell1981 hinted, the rules say you must give DVD at least 30 days until closing. If you set closing at 6 months from now, DVD would have 6 month of ROFR. The best approach, IMO, is to put closing exactly 30 days from when you think you can get the paperwork to them. You can always reset it later if you need to for some reason.

UPDATE: Heard Friday,10/19, that we had closed late the day before(per phone call, still no e-mail) I called MS this morning,10/22, and I'm already in the system!!! This has been a strange process.

:welcome: HOME!!!! We purchased 2 contracts back in January of this year and I remember how excited and scared :scared: I was. And...our wait wasn't anything like yours!

Enjoy DVC! You will love it. We took our first trip this summer and were so glad we purchased.

I paid $94 a point for a 100 point contract so i wasnt too concerned abot ROFR. That could be why it was quicker.
