Losing my mind until it's Disney time

Today is offically 39 days until I leave for Disney with my DH and DD10! I think I will go insane. We went the first week of October last year and it was the best. All I've done since returning is count down till the next trip...Without this trip I know I would be insane it's all that's let me keep it together. I am an office manager for a nationwide company that stays very busy. The main boss at this branch is driving me nuts he does absolutely nothing and he just hired me an assistant that seems to so far be useless. Thank goodness the rest of my co-workers are a blast and I love them to death> But I know without this trip I would loose my mind so Thank You Mickey for giving me hope and something to look forward to. Someone sprinkle some Pixie Dust my way and make the 39 days hurry and go away. Anyone else out that going nuts and counting down the days till it all goes bibbity bobbity boo and goes away. Please tell me if I'm alone here I doubt it. Disney take me away........

37 more days for me! I am so excited but also a little worried. My kids are 2.5 and 4.5 and I am just trying to keep my jitters to a minimum. I feel like I have built this trip up so much that I am going to go crazy! I have my DD starting kindergarten in a week so I am plenty busy and actually probably don't really have time to be writing this message!

34 days for me and counting.......I CAN NOT wait!!! Although I know it will be here and done in the blink of an eye.....But seriuosly, I can't wait. My kids (6,3) don't know yet and they are going to go through the roof when we tell them the morning we leave!!!!

38 days to go here -- I am so excited!
My kids, DD 4 and DS 2 are just as thrilled but my DS 13 is just making fun of us all! I think he's just as excited but being a teenager he's too cool to show it. My DD woke up this morning and asked if today was the day we were going to Mickey's house -- to cute!

I am counting down too...from 425 days!!! We just went in June, and already am planning our next trip for October 2007. I know it will come up fast, and like all of you, it keeps me sane knowing that I have another trip coming up eventually!!! I don't know what I would do without these DIS boards, and my countdown ticker!!!!

33 Days here!!

And more than anything today, I am concerned......concerned that my over-the-top obsessive trip planning has reached a level of near-hysteria. Before today I just laughed at myself, along with my husband. Before today I always chalked up my behavior to "smart planning", wanting the best vacation for my family, just trying to "think ahead" so that waiting in line time is minimum and having fun is MAX!

Today, sadly, things have changed....

I am now worried....about myself. DIS psychotherapists (or DIS veterans), pull up a chair.... ....I am laying myself down on the couch right now.

Today I went overboard. Today I reprinted my touring cards (my own little Disney vacation planning bible). I reformatted them, made any deletions/additions I felt necessary, reprinted, re-cut, re-glued, re-highlighted. And I must admit, they are beautiful.

This was not what I SHOULD have been doing today, but we won't go there.

Seriously, this is out of control. I am a grown women with a job, a family, and yes, a life outside of the DIS and this vacation!! This is not my first trip to Disney. Not even close. Lots of trips as a kid, in college, and early adulthood.

So what is different this time?

Well, this is the first trip for my new little family - me, DH, DD and DS. Also, we are staying onsite - first time for anything more than a weekend. Also, free dining (yet something else to over-plan....ADR's!!). All put together....reasons for me to go overboard in planning to make this a GREAT vacation!

This has to end. Someone....veterans....newbies.....anyone......tell me this will end!! I keep telling myself, "there, done....now I get to relax and enjoy the countdown". And then I find something else to re-do, re-plan, re-print, re-cut, re-highlight. Is it just me??

OK - rant over. Feeling better. Time to do something productive. Something that isn't associated with this vacation. Something....BORING!!!

I must say you are not alone I have a notebook decorated with disney like you this is not my first trip. I am grown with a family and full time job. But I will tell you I have dividers in this notebook labeled for each park each special activity.I have a section on reservations I have printed off the menu's to restaurant in each park and in each section with the corresponding park i have my park maps and brochures from last years trip inserted so not only can I look at plans and reservations I can put my finger on right where this magical experience will take place. I think I actually know enough about Disney to be a guide there.So you are not alone I think It's an addiction that slowly takes over. Have you ever watched the T.V. show Full House(I'm sure you have) well there is an episode where the Tanner Family goes to Disney and the dad Danny Tanner has his "clipboard of fun". Well my DD10 has officially proclaimed that her mother has turned into Danny Tanner and that I'm going to be walking thru Disney with this humongous notebook and a pencil. I have assured her that it is solely for planning before we go, on the plane, and in our room at night!!!But between us I don't know if I can stop there....So if any of you see some crazy lady the first week of October walking thru Disney with a notebook and some people walking across the street acting like they aren't with her it will probably be me. Hey I'm addicted. So the rest of you can come out of the closet now since we have now opened up and made it okay to be addicted to Disney!!!!LOL

OMG you two have made my day!!!
My DD15 is sitting here reading with me, and I KNOW she's thinking... good lord there are other women just like my Mom out there... and I am laughing my head off because everything you've both said is so completely NORMAL for me! Love it love it and thanks for the chuckle!

BTW, 31 sleeps!!!!!!!

And it doesn't help that my 3yr old keeps saying things like:

"I want to go to Disneyland"

"I want to see the Giant Buzz" (we showed him pictures of where we are staying in Sept - All Stars Movies)

"I want to go to Disneyland"

"I want to ride the plane" (oh to be so naive!)

"I want to go to Disneyland" (our last three trips to Disney were in California so it's what he remembers the most right now)...

"I want to see the Castle"

"I want to see the Fireworks"
