LOS instead of hoppers

We will be at CR for 8 days/7nights in November. My plan has been to buy 5 day hoppers and reserve one full day and the two partial travel days for DD, resort hopping, pool, etc. But it seems like the best deal is going to the the FTP, if it is extended with LOS passes. I haven't been able to get my mind around how itinerary planning would change for me if I didn't have to worry about making the most of 5 days in the parks and could go to any park at any time. How would you plan diferently for LOS versus a hopper pass?

Until we purchased PAP's last year, we've always gotten LOS passes.

The difference for us is that we use early entry and only stay until 11am or so. Then we either head back to the resort or perhaps check out a resort or two, then back to our room. Sometimes in the afternoons we'll go to a water park for a few hours or to DTD, then we do a different park in the evenings. Depending on what we've done during the day and what park hours are, on several nights we'll go to Disney Quest later in the evening.

Basically, an LOS allows us to spend as little or as much time as we want in the parks, then make trips to water parks for the afternoon and Disney Quest at night. We don't have to worry about wasting our "plusses" by only being at a water park for just a few hours and we can go as often as we want. LOS's allow us more freedom and more relaxed spur of the moment planning.
