Over the past month, it seems like everything bad has happened to us from car troubles to swine flu. We're supposed to be leaving for Disney World this Friday, and I'm just hoping and praying nothing else happens to keep us from going. I haven't been in 22 years, and my husband and children have never been, so please send some positive thoughts our way.

I know exactly what you mean!!!


I planned a trip for last January, and started planning about six months in advance. About a month before we were slated to leave, my youngest son, 11 mths at the time, got sick and stayed sick for 3 weeks. We saw four doctors, he threw up for 10 days, ran fever on and off for 2 weeks and laid around listless. It was super scary!! I just knew our trip was going to get cancelled and then felt awful for even caring about the trip when DS was so sick!

Thankfully they figured out what was wrong 10 days before we were supposed to leave and got him on the right antibiotics!


On top of all that, my husband got an unexpected promotion which was AWESOME but new job position with a vacation two weeks later??? Um... not always a good idea. They managed to cover his position for him so we could keep the vakay!

Hang in there!! If it's meant to be --and I know I hate hearing that when I want something to go my way BUT-- if it's meant to be, it'll happen!

Here is some pixie dust for you!!! I feel your pain...we leave on Dec. 7 and I can't wait...we have hit a string of bad luck as well...we have a leak in the roof and we are in a fight with the insurance co. to get it fixed...not the best timing with the huge nor'easter we just had......and then we just found out our computer bit it big time and we are going to have to replace it.......and then I got the flu this weekend...if I wasn't sleeping, I was crying...with these big ticket things needing replacing...I was thinking we might have to cancel the trip in order to save Christmas....but DH talked me off the cliff...and in the end, we will manage....now I just have my fingers crossed that my boys won't get sick and that we can make it to our trip.....then I can start worrying about a ton of other stuff....it never ends....I wish you a safe, happy and healthy trip

We are feeling your pain. My youngest daughter passed away last year and we are taking this trip as a Healing Vacation. Well we decided to take my car to get a once over before we left just to be safe and found out our struts and shocks are shot and it ended up costing us 600$ to fix. That was most of our spending...well not most...really it was all...
I have been working til 2 am and getting hubby up at 330 so he can get some overtime and then getting up with the kids at 7 for school(we homeschool). My body is tired and I am stressed but its all for the kids...I just hope there isnt some pushy person trying to cut any lines or my sleepless days might kick into overdrive and I may have to freak out on them...LOL

Well, our bad luck continues...just back from the dr. and my yougest has tested positive for the flu I knew it was bad when he woke up with a fever of 102.4 this morning...I'm feeling better, just very guilty because I'm sure I gave it to him....so he is now on Tamiflu so I hope he recovers quick...we will just sit and wait for my other son to go down too!!! The bright side of this is that we will have been through swine flu, and we have received the reg. flu shot, so I hope and pray that we will be fine for Disney!!!!
