Hi,

We have reservations for a preferred loop for Dec. 17 - Dec. 31. We do have a dog, so we will be restricted to Loops 300, 700 or 800.

Which of these loops would you recommend for our situation? We would rather be closer to the Settlement area than the Meadows, since we probably won't be doing much swimming, if at all, this time of year. Also, we plan to drive to all parks except MK, for which we will take the boat. That's another reason to be closer to the Settlement/Marina area as we will not have a golf cart.

When you recommend a loop, could you also recommend a site, or at least a range of sites (for example, the ten sites near the north end of loop 700, or something like that).

I know that Disney does not guarantee your loop or site requests, but they have done so every time I have requested on all previous trips (about 5), so I will try again for this trip.

Thanks for all your help,
Tromba

If you want to be close to the Settlement/PH area then 700 loop would be the best choice. The other two loops are closer to the Meadow area.

I believe that there are about 35 sites in the 700 loop. They vary in size (length, awning & slide out). This as well as your c/i and c/o dates are taken into consideration when they do site assignments. Since you are visiting at such a busy time the best request is a loop one, not a specific site. The front desk is pretty good about filling guest request, but they cannot guarantee them. Since xmas is such a busy time for the resort many times they are unable to fill guest request but I know they try.

It seems like there are a lot of long term visitors in the 700 loop, especially in the sites toward the exit. Considering the time of year that you are visiting, I am not sure you have a good chance of ending up there. The 700 loop is the most convenient pet loop to the Settlement area. After that, IMHO, the 300 and 800 loops are equally convenient to the Settlement area. Also, each has access to a nice pet walk area, and a comfort station right in the middle of the loop. The comfort station for the 700 loop is shared with two other loops. Both 300 and 800 loops have bus stops right outside the loop entrance, and the Settlement is the first stop if you are heading that way. It is not a bad walk from either of those loops. The advantage of the 800 loop is that you are closer by far to the Meadows Trading Post as well as the campfire area (via the pedestrian bridge behind the 600 loop). Subjectively, the sites in the 700 and 800 loops seem to be spaced further apart than those in the 300 loop.

I would suggest that your order of preference should be 700 1st, 800 2nd, and 300 3rd.
