We are going to be going to Fort Wilderness next week for 2 weeks, this is our first time at Fort Wilderness and I would like to try and get the best loop or site for our 31 ft Minnie Winnie with one slideout, we have no pets so that it not an issue. I was going to call Fort Wilderness to ask for suggestions but I thought someone on the board could help me out. Thanks

Welcome to the dis! I have only stayed in the 1600 loop and it was great. Any loop great as long as its at the fort. Someone will be along shortly with a better answer.

Hello all. New forumer here...I have this same question as well. I have a new 32 ft. travel trailer. We are planning our first trip to Disney in 2010. How far out can/should I make reservations? We are trying to get two RVs close together which complicates matters further.

We have a 33' TT. In my experience, most of the loops have sites that vary in size. If you make your needs known before arrival, the assigned site is usually adequate. If you arrive and it just does not work for you you may be able to get a different site. I have circled the loop and spied out other spots that would be better suited. Go to one of the house phones on the outside of the Comfort Station and call the Front Desk. Tell them your assigned site, and ask if you could be reassigned to Site#____. Then have a 2nd choice to ask for, if that one is not available. They have always been very cooperative. There is always some give and take with each site, but you should be comfortable.

Reservations can be made 500 days in advance, but the price is not guaranteed. Pricing for a calander year is usually released July/August of the previous year (the 2009 rates were released in Augusst 2008). So, if you make a rerservation for 2010 in early 2009 you will be guaranteed a site, but not a price. The reservation (site only) wil require a 1 night deposit and they will charge you an approximate price.

we always have pet sites but we have stayed in th 300,500,1600and 1900 loops many times most sites shouldn't be a problem the 1900 loop does have some that sit up level with road but then drop off to wet areas quickly otherwise the other loops were all good but as i said we are in pet loops so if this isn't a thing you need this probably won't help other then to pick sites you don't need to consider

A 31ft rig will fit on nearly any site in the Fort. I would not worry unless you were over 35 feet. Our fifth wheel alone is 33ft and well over 45 ft when connected and we have no problems. The sites have a packed sand/shell mixture area behind them that allow your rig to hang off yet still be supported if need be.
