Loop Requests?

Curious to know: do y'all request certain loops or just wait to be surprised?

If you do request, which loop and why?

Yes. But now'a days it seems not to matter to Disney if you request , they'll still stick you where they want.

But none the less I do request,, when we get to the Fort, throw a fit because you made ressies a year ago, didn't get what you requested,, but just be pizzy enough and hold out and they'll give you a decent site.

It's a shame that has to happen , but some times it does.

Anyways the reason we request certain loops is cause some loops have bigger sites,, some loops are on canals, some loops generally have fewer children, some loops are lacated nearer to the stoes, marina, etc,,, just all depends on your likes and dislikes.

We book Preferred Pet - which these days pretty much guarantees the 300 loop which also happens to be our favorite. But there are a few sites on this loop that work best for us with our setup and the dogs and we do put in a request. I'm sure it helps that we go during a slower time, but we've had good lucking getting our 1st choice last year and our 2nd this year (which we ended up liking even more than our first choice!) The year before there were more Preferred Pet loops and we still got our request of 300.

I think in general it helps more to request any particular needs/wants you have in a site, vs a specific loop/site - i.e., close to comfort station/bus stop, etc. Also may help to give a few options if you're being specific. We always give our top 3-5, realizing that (as it happened this year) there could be someone that's already been in the site you requested for a while and isn't necessarily checking out in time for your arrival.

I just want to mention that I got the exact site I requested when we were at the Fort back in September. So I do think it is worthwhile to at least attempt a request if you have a specific site or loop in mind.

Agreed - just keep in mind that if you're checking in during a busy time, or even just a big turnover day, there's a much greater chance that they won't be able to grant your request.

That's why I like giving a few sites or at least giving them the "type" of site we'd like. More options that way.... assuming of course that it's super important to you to get a particular site in the first place. Gotta say that in 5 trips in the last 6 years, we haven't been unhappy with any site we've gotten - and only the last 2 were sites we specifically requested.

FWIW:

I faxed a letter on Tueday for our arrival the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I had reserved a Partial site so I knew I would end up with 1500 or 2000 so I requested 1500. I said we like being near the Trading Post, the kids like to fish in the canal, we had some 70-year-olds who wanted to walk to the pool and movie/singalong and it must of worked because we ended up in the 1500 loop in the back along the canal.

No guarentees but I've done this before and in all my trips I do think the Fort Assigners try to accomodate requests if possible.

The last 3 times we have been to the fort I have always requested a loop preference at the time of booking. I have always been given what I requested.
