Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me. Me and my family are planning a trip to WDW in 2010 and we are considering maybe camping this time.

Me, my DH, and 2 DDs came down for a few days last year, and stayed at the ASM resort. We loved it, but next year we will be bringing my DS who will be 3 then with us (He stayed at Nana's during the last trip, because he was so small). So now there will be 5 of us and we can't stay at ASM . :confused3 We don't want to stay offsite, and we just don't see spending the extra $$ to stay in a more expensive resort, (we probably won't be there much anyway).

The options are either camping at FW, or maybe staying at POR, since they have a room that will accomidate 5, (but that would be the only other option).

We are currently in the process of purchasing a 32" 5th wheel with a pop out, and we have a Ford f250. I am hoping someone can tell me if there are any sites on the 100 or 200 loop that will accomidate us, and if so, which sites are the best. We have decided we like the fact that these loops are so close to everything, but didn't want on a pet loop. We love animals, but don't want to spend all night listening to the neighbor's dog barking.:coffee: (Sorry, but my kids are cranky if they don't get their ZZZZZZ). I have never been to FW, but it looks nice. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!:)

I don't think there is a site in 100 or 200 that cannot take a 32' trailer, but it may take a good driver to get it into some of them. My big concern for you is you are worried about dog noises keeping the kids awake. Well, these loops are very close to the marina, and Hoop-Dee-Doo, and both make a good deal of noise until 10pm or so. And it is close enough to the Settlement Depot that you'll hear bus-kneeling-alarms until quite late as well. And the boat horns start as early as 6:30am. If you are looking for quiet and relatively cheap, I highly recommend 1800 or 1900. They are off the roads and well away from the marina. JMHO.

I agree..There is lots of activity around the Settlement and Marina areas. Peace and quiet are well away from those sites. Go for the 1800 or 1900 loops.

I don't remember the exact site off-hand but in June 2007 I was in loop 200. I have a 32' 5er with a slide that I pull with a crew cab F350 dually. No problems getting in the site.

We always have stayed in the 200 loop and loved it. The 100 loop gets alot of people cutting through it coming back from MK. So how ever late MK is open that night people will be walking by in the 100 loop. We stayed in 1900 loop in Dec 08 and we missed the 200 loop. Plus I like hearing the boat horns (makes me feel like a kid again) The boat horns will blow 1 hr past MK closes.

Congrat's on getting the 5er and welcome to the camping board. :wave2:

I just wanted to chime back in and say that I too LOVE the sounds in the sites near the marina. The boat horn, the carriage rides, water pageant, fireworks, I even love the bus-kneeling sounds! But wanted to make sure the OP was aware that this area is not quiet, dog loop or not.

I totally agree with the above posts. I love 100/200 loops. They are so fun because they are right there in the middle of it all. But you will hear all the sounds well into 2 in the morning if it's summer. For me, it was just the sounds of FW and it didn't bother me. I'm in 800 right now and it is a pet loop but I am back in the middle of the loop and hear nothing. So, maybe rather than requesting a specific loop, you could request something toward the middle of a few that is away from a street where the sounds get loud. I've had no trouble getting into the 100 loop sites but one time with the 200 loop, my site was so tight, I cried trying to back in. It was the only time I thought I just couldn't do it. With a few tries, though, in we went. We have a 42' MH so it doesn't bend like you can with a 5th wheel. And we got in eventually. So you should have no problem.

We've never stayed in 100, but we had no problem getting into our site in the 200 loop with a 35 footer. I don't remember the site number, but it was a typical site. 100 was a bit closer to the action - probably too close for me. We stayed in the premium 400 loop a couple months ago, and there wasn't a site in there you'd have trouble getting into with a 32' fiver. It was close to the marina without some of the business of 100 and 200. We've also stayed in 1400, which is close enough to the marina to hear every note of the electrical water pageant as the kids try to go to sleep, but also close to the pool and campfire program. Frankly, we've never stayed in a loop we didn't thoroughly enjoy.

We've stayed in the 100 loop several times. We love it there. I wasn't bothered by noise at all. We did hear the boat whistles if we were outside, but I was never bothered when we were in the camper. We were there for 3 weeks last summer. When we go back we will definitely request the 100 loop again :thumbsup2

We allways stay in 100 or 200 and also love it. The noise has never been a problem but we do sleep with the tv on so that may have helped.

We were disappointed in the 200 loop the end of Sept. It was our original request..only when we saw the site they were giving us..we called back real quick to check in for another location. It backed up to a very swampy, cleared out area that was none to pretty to look at. :crazy2: Not at all what we expected being in that loop.

I'm glad to say they offered us another site in the 600 loop. It was a perfect location.:thumbsup2 It is situated between the Meadow Tranding Post and Pool, yet close enough to the Settelement/Pioneer Hall area, without any of the noise. It was a preferred loop, with water/sewer/electric and cable. I believe the plan is to upgrade this loop to premium allowing for easier entry for larger RV's.

It was not a dog loop...however, we did see a dog. I would bare in mind that FW doesn't really enforce it's pet loop/vs non pet loop policy. At least from what I've read here on the board, and saw for myself in Sept. Seems they take the additional fee when you request a pet loop..but very often pets are seen in non pet loops. I'd still pick a non pet loop, when traveling without "Fido"..but chances are you're gonna see someone who has a pet in there. We didn't have an issue with it, as the pup was fine, and they cleaned up after it.

When we were in the 100 loop last summer we saw a couple of dogs there too. One of them was with a retired man that apparently lives there year round. The dogs were no problem, but I agree that they are on non pet loops.

Depending on the amount of vacancies and where, FW will often use non pet loops as overflow for pet loops when the PL's are full. That may not have been the case in September, but this often happens during the summer and Holidays. We take our dog and have been put in a non pet loop as overflow before in October. Paid an extra $5/night to have him with us and FW didn't even provide the poop bags. I had to use zip-top bags we had in the camper.

Not that I have any thing aginst people bringing animals to FW but I hope I never get stuck next to a barking dog in a nonpet loop. I love to see all the peoples wonderful pets but I leave mine at home for a reason.

Oh I can tell you that even those of us WITH pets don't want to get stuck next to a barking dog in a pet loop either! :)

We make sure our dogs aren't barking/annoying people, and we hope that others will be responsible and do the same.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advise. I think after reading all of the posts we are going to spend a little more $$, and go with a premium loop (hopefully 600), I've already made reservations for a premium site.:woohoo:
