Hi

We are visiting DLP from 4th-9th January and we recently tried to upgrade our Santa Fe reservation to the Sequoia Lodge only to be told that it was fully booked and maybe they might have some rooms in November if we tried again. Well instead we went up again and booked the New Port Bay. I have just taken another look at the disney website and it looks like all the Disney hotels are fully booked through the first week in January.

Does this mean the parks are going to be full to busting?

I noticed this the other night as we wanted to change as well from the DCR.

The partner hotels are available but none of the onsite.

I was a bit :scared1:

At least the credit crunch hasnt hit disney yet!:rotfl:

More profits = more new rides and shows :thumbsup2

I suppose even though its going to be cold it must be one of the cheapest times of the year to go.

So have you changed hotels or are you sticking with DCR?

I think the cheap prices and the bonus of getting the end of the Christmas season has made the 1st week in January very popular. We go on the 11th and I'm expecting it to slump a bit then, as Christmas is officially over.:sad1: Still, there should be fewer people!

Yes even DLH was booked, we could go on the 11th ok but as my flights are booked for the 4th that didn't help :)

steve

That's a shame, I was hoping to join the DIS meet but I've obviously left it too late now.

Maybe next time

I found this out when i was looking, but when i had a fiddle with the dates lots of rooms are available from the 7th onwards. So fingers crossed the 7th-8th will be less busy.

We have changed to the Adagio. I know we lose 2 days of EMH but....

We stayed at DCR in August and it was great but this time the plan was to fly in and hire a car at CDG. However, after looking at some of the car hire companies and the amount they want to put 'on hold' on our Credit Card for a deposit, it has put me right off.

In that case, we should get to see all the xmas stuff for the first couple of days and they have peace and quiet for 3 days. That sounds better.

Aaah but you wouldn't have seen the Christmas stuff then. (Well, you didn't know you were going to win the competition when you booked, did you? :) )

Thats is true :goodvibes

i'm just a pit peeved that its going to be busy thats all. Oh well what can ya do:lmao:

Just been looking on Expieda and they still have dates showing for onsite hotels for the 5th and 6th...in some hotels the monday is booked but have rooms for a tuesday or visa versa.

Hopefully it won't be too bad, parents will want to get older kids back to the new school term ASAP, after the intial New Year weekend I would've expected it to quieten down.

Partly the reason I chose March is because I want to be there when it's quiet and when there's nothing special on to draw the crowds. Looking at the calendar I think I've got it spot on, the Welsh celebration is the weekend before, the 15th Anniversary is finished, we come home the day before St. Patrick's Day and the Mickey's Magical thing doesn't start til later. It's all too perfect, something has to go. :scared1:

After last year's chaotic weekend Christmas trip :headache: and the March trip that turned out to be the Press/VIP weekend I just want a quiet relatively calm and enjoyable trip. :cloud9:

I thought it would be quiet but seeing as the resort is practically fully booked, looks like ill be fighting my way up main street lol.

Least I know that in September the park's will be quiet and the weather will be nice.

It's strange, it's not the kind of place where you expect to be able to relax, but sometimes you just want to chill and not be darting from 1 queue to another or getting pushed around. Or maybe it's just my age :rotfl:
