I had two pieces of plain, dry wheat toast for breakfast and then, because I needed to eat and my sinus meds were making me all spacy feeling, I ended up eating an ENTIRE package of crackers which was like 1000 calories all by itself.
I also read that if you don't eat your body goes into a starvation mode and then holds on to everything so you will not lose weight. Eventually you do lose weight but then I thought I read it will break down your good tissue (muscle) to get it's nutrients.
