Hey everyone, I'm taking a family trip and will be on the Nov, 8 2014 Fantasy Cruise. I'm single and think it will be great to get to know people before heading out on the trip. Everyone is welcome to post here. I look forward to meeting some of you and maybe hanging out on the ship

Are you on the main thread for this cruise, located here? There is also an FB group, but no longer allowed to post links to FB from the Dis.

I have not seen any posts by singles on either. There was a post on a different board by someone bringing their 30 year old, single son who likes karaoke and piano bars. That is the only other single I've noticed.

I am married but cruising solo this time, but I am not likely to be someone you'd want to hang out with. ;)

This is my 20th Disney cruise. I'm sure you'll love the Fantasy! Since you are a chef, are you going to try Palo and Remy?

I went on my first Disney cruise with my son last year and did some research to see if there was any single stuff on board. They did seem to have a mingle or lunch or something like that on the longer 7 day cruises so might check that out once on board. They also had three single moms with kids at our table which was really cool. But with a large family you may just have family at your table. Regardless it should be a great time! Disney cruises are fabulous! Small world too I grew up in Carmel so couldn't help notice San Jose :-) as mentioned before the food in Remy and Palo is supposed to be excellent!

Although they do have a singles/solo traveler lunch at least a couple of times (usually at 12:30 on Sunday and Thursday at Royal Court for this itinerary), they are generally not well attended and of course of those who would attend, ages can vary widely from eighteen to elderly. There are other singles activities, but they are usually stated as "Club 18-21" and limited to that age group.

But you will find plenty to do on this cruise, solo or not. And as a chef, you should definitely try Palo AND Remy if possible. ::yes::

Thank you for the information, I'll post one on the cruise date thread. As far as meeting singles, it doesn't have to be for romance. It would be nice to know a few people on board. Maybe head to one of the bars and grab a drink.

There is an informal meet in The Tube (Deck 4 aft) on embarkation day (Saturday) from 2 to 3 pm. I will definitely be there at 2 and probably the first half hour at least. I'll probably be the only solo person there so easy to spot. :wave2:

You'll at least meet some others from the Dis there if you attend. :)
