we are thinking about driving to Disneyland and camping at an RV park with our trailer. I would love to hear from those of you who have done this. Which RV park do you recommend ( or not recommend) what hints and tips do you have, and would love to see pics of the RV park.
thanks

I must not have searched correctly but there are a couple of discussions on the Anaheim RV Resort and the Harbor RV from May forward.
I stayed at both in a tent. The Harbor is almost within walking distance of DL, more of a parking lot, open gates, smaller pool, you can watch the fireworks from here and costs less. ART just down the street. We've stayed here a couple of times in the past 6 years or so.

The Anaheim RV costs more, has nicer grounds, great bathrooms, ART stops out front, security at night, more trees. There is a school across the street and you can hear the freeway noise neither of which bothered me. We just stayed here in May for a week. Close to Honda Center and Angel Stadium. The Anaheim Marketplace is almost across the street and walkable. I had never been before and was amazed at how much stuff is crammed in there. If you need anything you can likely find it here.

I find both are good locations for driving anywhere else in the area. Being in a tent I felt the RV Resort a little safer since the resort is not on a busy road.

There used to be 4 RV parks. Anaheim Village, now closed. Anaheim Resort, Orange and Anaheim Harbor. We usually stay at AH, mainly because it's the cheapest. We usually unhook and take our motorhome into Disney's large vehicle lot. Makes for great afternoon breaks. AH is a parking lot with hookups. It has a nice but small pool and clean bathrooms. I have seen security there the last couple trips. Also the back 2/3 rds are monthley's. This makes for a lot of thru traffic.
Orange has lots of trees and gives you a better feeling ( surrounded by orange trees) but the sites are very hard to get into. It is much more expensive. It is past Angel Stadium.
Anaheim Resort looks pretty nice although I have never stayed there. It gets good reviews and is a little closer than Orange.
It you want a nice camping feel and don't mind a little drive. Dockweiller Campground is right on the Pacific right at the end of LAX. You are feet from the ocean. It can take some time getting to DL depending on the time of day.

Stayed at Anaheim Resort for a week last May, also. It was quiet, very clean, and the school wasn't a problem. Drop off/pick ups didn't seem to coincide with our park hours. ART shuttle very convenient.

It's not walking distance to the parks. It looks close on Google Earth but because of the freeway, it's a 1 1/2 mile walk.

It's called Orangeland, sorry.

are there still the 3 RV parks in the area? or is there now others? any other advise on camping? We might have the option to travel with friends in the RV/motorhome. Once you arrive and park your RV, if you doent want to take the ART, are you allowed to drive your motor home out of the park but still keep your site ?

Good morning. Everything I said back in 2015 is still the same.
We take our mh into the parking lot all the time. Once you reserve a space, it's yours till you check out, so if you take your mh for the day, your site will be there when you return. They do post empty site numbers at the office door for late night arrivals that don't have resies.
If you want to take your mh to DL you will use the Mickey and Friends parking lot. It has the " over sized" vehicle area. Sometimes they will be diverting the traffic to the Toy Story lot, if this happens, stay on Disneyland Dr and head right for the orange cones on the left. The Police will move the cones and let you thru.

Not sure why you'd want to disconnect from the hookups and drive to the park everyday. If you don't (or can't) use the ART shuttle, just use Uber or Lyft. It's $23.00 for 'oversized parking'. Uber will run you $10.30 per round trip, Uber XL around $18.00.

Even if you have to use 2 Ubers or an UberXL you'd still pay less than driving and parking. And it's much more convenient.

Having to use car seats would negate this, of course.

I have a question about Anaheim Harbor. I hear there are 2 showers. Is there a crazy long line to use them before DL opening or near DL closing time? Not worth staying there if I have to shower at 5am, or miss rope drop because the line is 10 deep for a shower at 7am.

My mh is self contained so I haven't used the showers. during the little time I spend at the rv park I have seen a few people heading toward the showers but never seen a line.
I believe they lock the bathrooms at a certain time and re open them in the morning. You can get a key for a deposit that will let you in any time.

Stormy, the reason we take our mh to the park is for afternoon naps and cheap lunches. My grandkids are 13, 8 and 6.
Also, I can unhook and be on the road in 15 minutes. We also have AP's that include parking.
