Looking for Track & Field Summer Camps

Does anyone know of any good Track & Field Summer Camps?

DD15, didn't make the high school softball team this year, so she went out for track instead. She has been doing Shot Put & Discus and has been doing very well, considering it's her first year.

The problem is that the throwers have no coach - they only coach the runners and jumpers. So, the throwers (both male & female) are on their own. I have been looking for college camps in Florida, but the only one I've been able to find is at Florida State.

Has anyone sent their teenage kids to a good residential track camp? Do you know of any in your area? I'd prefer one in the southeast, since we live in Florida. Thanks!

I personally don't know of any camps, but my daughter has done shot and discus (as well as hurdles, triple jump, high jump and long jump) for the past 4 years, and my husband is the assistant track coach for the high school. I will ask him if he knows of any camps in your area.

I believe they might have track camps at the NTC here in Clermont. If they don't have one, they can certainly direct you to where you might find one.

My DH is a former High School track coach and he loves the NTC. They seem to have a really great facility and everyone there is so nice!

I will definitely check them out. DD had a meet today with 9 other schools - she got her first win in discus! She was so happy.
