In the past I have done mostly character meals with my girls. I take them to WDW alone, buffets worked well for me. Now they are 9 and 11 and I am doing the dining plan in November. We are doing HDD and Chef Mickeys(i know alot dont' like it, but our fav).... give me some ideas of some new things to spread our wings a bit. Thanks.

I guess it depends on what the kids like to eat? My nieces are very picky so we take them to breakfast buffets as they love all breakfast foods and enjoy the characters.

Some of the best were Ohana, CP, Cape May, Princess in Norway

They did enjoy the atmosphere at Coral Reef but not the food.

What about Sci Fi or 50's PT for the fun and games?

We enjoyed Cape May either for breakfast or dinner. Also last trip we enjoyed Tusker House at AK for lunch. My kids are approx. the same age as yours.

Our kids have enjoyed Cape May, Boma, Ohana and others. They are not picky eaters though. They eat anything from mexican to japanese and everything in between. :thumbsup2

We are trying two new ones for us this trip, Yachtsmans Steakhouse and Narcoosee's.

My kids are now teenagers & still enjoy an occassional character meal. They like the buffets for the variety of food. I don't think they have been to one that they didn't like

The Luau at the polynesian is a fun show with good food...I have been a few times and since your kids are a little older it will probably be more interesting for them (versus a younger child who might get bored)...plus if you haven't been to the Polynesian its beautiful there!

Another one I always liked was 1900 Park Fare...I believe its Alice in Wonderland Characters for breakfast?

Crystal Palace is always great, its one I have loved since I was 4! Winnie the Pooh Characters might not appeal to your girls since they are a little older, but I have always found the breakfast to be fresh and delicious

I have heard great things about Boma (non character), if they are little more adventurous eaters, from pictures of the food and Animal Kingdom Lodge it looks beautiful and delicious!

I am sure you all will have such a great time! :)

I would recommend Sci Fi. Its so much fun to dine in a car while watching movie clips. The atmosphere is phenominal! Yummy yet simple food: burgers, shakes. Oh, their ribs are TO DIE FOR!

Teppan Edo is my son's fave restaurant (he's 11). I highly recommend this place, its my fave as well. Not only is the steak delish, its so much fun watching them cook everything. Quite entertaining. And I hoenstly thought their steak kicked Le Cellier's steaks a##!!!! I was sooo disaapointed with Le Cellier.

Ohana & 1900 PF & Tusker House are also wonderful choices you cant go wrong with. :thumbsup2

I agree that Sci Fi is a lot of fun. We prefer lunch for the burgers to dinner.

'Ohanas for breakfast or dinner is another good option. We usually do both.

We did the Luau a few years ago and had a good time. Food was decent and it was definitely entertaining.

DS loved Coral Reef a few years ago (he was 12). We were lucky enough to sit right by the tank and had a ray for company for most of our meal. :) And we thought the food was good as well. Again, we did lunch though, not dinner.

DS definitely have few favorites we must do for each trip.
Some are Crystal Palace Breakfast, Tusker House Breakfast, Teppan Edo, Ohana dinner, California Grill (he doesn't get kids food... he gets sushi platter)...

Really depends what your kids like to eat....
