Hello there -

I am looking for some ideas to cheer up a friend who has been put through the ringer. Over the past 5-8 years she has battled breast cancer and won that fight only to have had cancerous lesions on her brain. She has undergone so much treatment and has such a wonderful sense of faith that I want to do something for her. She can't really read right now because of the treatment and she isn't really eating because she can't taste the food and has no app. what else can I do for her? I just want her to know we care about her. She isn't what you would call a close friend, in fact she is really the wife of a co-worker of my dh's. I can't tell you the last time we saw her but I keep updated on her progress through my dh who talks to her dh daily.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

As a breast cancer survivor myself, I know that any kind words, thoughts, or (sometimes) visits went a long way for me. I know you said she can't read, but I kept every card I received during my treatments (and beyond). Maybe you could get one of those recordable cards and send some fun and kind thoughts her way. My friend, who is a 2x brain cancer survivor, loved when I sent him his favorite flowers. I am not sure this would apply, depending on her vision status, but flowers are definitely a cheery greeting.
Lots of good thoughts being sent to you and your friend!
You are a very thoughtful person!!!

You are such a kind person, here's a  for you for caring so much.

A lovely card is always appreciated and would certainly be a lovely gesture.

Here's a few other ideas if you are looking for a gift.

Some girly DVD's, maybe some classics like 'breakfast at tiffany's' etc
Music cd's
Talking books...........my dear friend loved these when she was unwell.
Skin care products............not my thing but lots of other women love them.
A pot plant
Flowers
Scented candle
Fun slippers
A lap rug
A cute stuffed toy

When my cousin was unwell with cancer treatment and had no desire to eat she still loved getting lolly bouquets and cookie hampers because she enjoyed her children's delight every time they arrived. Just a thought.

I shall keep your friend in my thoughts.
