Looking for standard view BWV photos

We're going in May and will be staying in a handicap accessible room at the Boardwalk Villas. We opted for a "standard" view (to save a few points so we can spend more time when we go back in the Fall).

I'm curious if anyone has any photos of their standard view rooms at the BWV (and if you remember - what were the room number). I'm hoping we won't be on the first floor (we much more prefer a balcony than a patio):). I'm familiar with the room layout but am looking for photos of views from the balcony and/or windows.

I have an idea as to where the standard view rooms are located - but I'm more of a "visual" person and photos would help me get an idea what we may be getting come May.

Thanks much!

This is from our third floor standard view in Dec. Facing the front entrance driveway.

This one is on the end of the bldg....top floor...facing towards DHS.

This is from a ground floor one bedroom. That walk you see is just outside the villa door and around the corner...it goes from the bldg to the bus stop. Very convenient.

I like the standard views. Well...not as thrilled with the first one shown in the photos...I got to watch squirrels running through the branches of the tree that was a foot away from my balcony!!! But, otherwise, they are nice views.

Thanks Goofy4Tink! That gives me an idea.

The last time DH & I were at Boardwalk (it was our first time there) we were told we'd be near the elevator with a "garden view", however, we were the last room on the 5th floor towards the Swan. Guess he meant the Swan's elevators! :rotfl: We did have a lovely view but the walk just to get to the elevator was a lot of exercise. At least DH had a scooter!

That time I had requested a handicap room from the DVC's CM, but was talked out of it because "the one-bedrooms have a lot of room and you can always request a transfer bench for the bathroom." Ok - we said as long as we were near the elevators. The CM "confirmed" we would be and the CM at the desk confirmed it, but alas we weren't. This time I asked for (and will hopefully) get a handicap room with a standard view. DH is an above-knee amputee so being near the elevator helps.

Thanks again for the photos!

Oh man...don't you hate it when you have specific needs and they tell you you'll be all set, but find you're far from it??!!! I know nothing is etched in stone with requests. But truly....there is no way I would accept a regular one bedroom because it has a 'lot of room' and you can 'request a transfer bench'. Man...that's why they have special handicapped rooms available. No one should have to worry about it. I would request a handicap room, close to the elevators if at all possible. You need to decide which is more important though....proximity to the elevators or the handicap accesibility in a room...just in case.

There are some pictures here:

Click on the pics to see them (slightly ;) ) larger. There are only 2 pgs, even though they've got numbers for more, but a little info anyhow. :)

I have heard that all the ones facing the "Village Green" are dedicated studios. If that's the case, then all the ones on the lake side from the elevator until the first bend are studios, which I would guess would lower your odds of getting one close to the elevator if you go for a 1 BR. And all the ones I've seen facing the entrance in the front side were also dedicated studios, so it may be tough to get close to the elevators without a studio.

Have you seen this map?

In the front of the building, it's easy to see what room numbers you want -- that purplish section, or 1068-1085, 2068-2085 and the same batch of numbers on up to the fifth floor. If the Unofficial Guide is correct, then the Boardwalk rooms end at "x033", so from the elevator to the first bend on the lake side, you'd want rooms x034-x066. So ideally, x034 through x085, which would all be Luna Pool if even, the village green or the entrance if odd.
