Looking for some hotel advice (Hyatt OC vs. On-Property Hotels)

Ah, I stand corrected...I didn't realize that the OP was talking about a full-size bus. She said "shuttle", and when I think of a shuttle, I think of the vans used for Super Shuttle and the like. It is true that full-sized coaches (like Grayline, Greyhound, and full-size school buses) are exempt from the car seat law. Smaller shuttles, however, are not exempt (like Primetime, Super Shuttle, and many hotel shuttles).

Fully understand :) if she wanted to avoid traveling with it id suggest the Disney bus (which btw is not like the one at WDW) or a service like DK Livery which I think is now called something else.

If you decide to stay on-site can you move your dates back one week? Dapper day rates are valid September 7-18. $194/nt at Disneyland Hotel and $225 a night at Grand Californian. Discounted tickets are also available at a significant discount. Just a thought. Dapperday.com for more info

WOW, the prices are that low for Dapper Day? I think that's like 50% off summer DLH prices, right?

I was thinking a full size bus shuttle...if we go with a van/car I would make sure a car seat was available for such a long distance. We use the CARES harness on the plane so we don't need a car set for the plane ride.

We decided to stay on site (not sure where yet). I am going to wait a coupe of weeks to chance my hotel reservations just incase they offer some sort of hotel discount.

If they do offer a discount, we've been able to call and get it applied to a reservation we already have.

Just a quick note to say that I've stayed at the Hyatt OC a couple of times and found the shuttle to be convenient and timely. They typically show Disney cartoons on board and they're nicely air conditioned. I didn't have any trouble with the shuttle being too full to get on while I was there, so if you time your arrival at the shuttle stop so that you're not waiting for long this can be decent option in lieu of cabbing it each day (or multiple times per day).
