Last week before the Blizzard I was looking for new boots for 2 of my sons. Well now I'm sure it will be 10x as hard. 9 yr old is size 7 and 6 yr old is size 2. Any thoughts????

We went boot shopping yesterday. Target had some kids boots left but no larger sizes. We have a stride rite outlet and they still had kids boots. I finally found myself a pair at hush puppies. DD10 got a pair of women's boots at Target.

You might want to call the stores around you and ask what they have in stock. I would think that most people aren't out shopping today but there are probably people working in the stores to answer your call. I called Rugged Bear about snow pants and the staff was there.

Good luck! We're on a snow pant hunt now :rolleyes1

Check out any local thrift stores. Kids grow so fast sometimes that you can get new/barely worn boots (or ski-boots or parkas, almost anything that they can grow out of in one season or less) for real cheap.

agnes!

Lands End. If you have a Sears store near you, try there first. They sell Lands End. I just bought my 14 year old a pair of boots yesterday for $24 and change. He wears a men's 11 1/2!

They were less than the boots I saw at Walmart and Target...and the thing with Lands End is that they re-sell very well on eBay. I resold his LE boots from last year for $25 (I sold them last week).

I had the same problem. I happened to go into Gander Mountain and they had a bunch of kids boots in all sizes...quality boots too!

Thanks. I wwent to Sears last week but Lands End had no black left. And no size 7.

I bought DD's at the thrift store..I always find them there for dirt cheap and they are hardly worn. DS is wearing mine LOL

Another vote for LE...can't beat the quality and their guarantee. They ship fast so check it out!

I've been to 7 stores looking for size 4 boots for my DS8 and nothing ! payless ahd one pair for $40 ! No way, esepcially since he wasn't wiht me to try them on. I'd rather go to a local place with him where they will fit the shoe to his foot.

Thanks. I wwent to Sears last week but Lands End had no black left. And no size 7.

Yeah, my DS had to settle for blue with black. Not the best color choice, but it's all they had in his size. He'll only be wearing them at home, to shovel snow, or to go snow tubing. There is no way he'd be caught dead in ANY boots at school (he's in High School...enough said!)

Our walmart had some. But DH went shopping for me yesterday & came upon some cute ones at Burlington Coat Factory. He got DD4 black & pink for $15 & DS7 black & blue for $17.

Thanks. I wwent to Sears last week but Lands End had no black left. And no size 7.

Have you checked online? DD decided to inform me yesterday that actually, her boots WERE too tight. Oh goodie. In December in MN there are not going to be a lot of choices! Last year we didn't even wait late at all and the only place I could find them was Lands End online. But they are excellent boots and when I get the new ones, her brother can inherit the old ones.

I vote for either Land's End online or a store like Zappos online that ships very quickly. I ordered last year's boots from Zappos and got really nice Columbia boots. My older ds wore his yesterday and says they still fit, so hopefully I won't have to buy new ones for him. My younger ds tried his on and they were too small, but luckily I kept his brother's old boots from Land's End a few years ago and they fit him now. They still look brand new too!

Is the 9 yo in a 7 youth? - if so you might be looking in the wrong department. I just ran into this issue a few months ago with my kids. I found out that's usually a men's shoe size. Expect to pay at minimum twice as much for his shoe's from now on . Land's End and LL Bean break at a 6.5 for boys vs. men. Some shoemaker's break (i think nike?) as low as size 5.5 as their last boy's size.

I'd suggest trying LL Bean for the younger one. Their boots are a litle more expensive ($34.50) but you'll get a $10 GC.

I bought my son boots in Kmart on Friday. His boots were $24.99 but, they had a sale ALL boots buy1 get the 2nd 50% off. The boot sale was called a family sale so it included adult sizes and kid sizes. my DS8 only wears a size 2.
