I am looking for samples to take on our trip as suggested by a previous poster. I have not had a lot of luck going to individual websites. Anyone have any links to samples for me?
Thanks
Lori

If you can't find free samples, you can stop by a local laundromat and purchase small boxes for around 75 cents. That's what I did.

walmart sells trial size tide. I bought a bunch of baby washcloths at the dollar store. Soaked up liquid detergent in each and let dry on a piece oof foil in the garage. Then I put them all in a ziploc and I throw one in with each load of laundry. It works great. I also take dryer sheets with me.

That's a great idea, but I'd be worried about getting detergent stains on the clothes that way. Have you ever had that problem?

I look for freebies all year round and I put whatever I get in a bag for the various vacations we go on. I have not had to buy many sample or travel sizes in a while. Toothpaste samples are the mini travel size ones. They are awesome.

I use powder detergant, I measure out the correct amount in a ziplok bags and take them with me. In another bag I place dry sheets.

I buy the travel size bottles of liquid tide at target for $1.00. One bottle will do 2-4 loads of laundry. I just slip it in a zip bag in our luggage and have never had a problem.:thumbsup2

Are you driving or flying? We drove last year and I took an empty Propel water bottle and filled it with detergent and also brought dryer sheets with me saved some money:banana:

I did this once thinking I was being clever. I even had "Tide - 4 loads" written on the baggie so I knew how much to put in each load. When we opened up the suitcase at the hotel, there was powder EVERYWHERE! ! The baggie was cut open and on the side of the baggie was a sticker saying that it had been inspected by the airline security. :scared:
I never bring powder laundry soap anymore!!

check out the Freebie thread right here on the budget board... there are often links to free laudry soap/ deoderant samples.

I bought a box of laundry tablets for a camping trip once, so I took those along on our first trip to WDW and will probably do the same this next time. No worries of anything getting spilled, etc.

I bought these once a few years ago, and now I cant find them anymore. I dont think they make them anymore. I now just bring my own liquid detergent in a small refillable container.

I haven't seen those laundry tablets in a couple of year now. Dh used to drive OTR and they were great for him to take along.

Thank you to Piecey for the link to that website, there are some great samples there.

They do make something now called Dropps...has anyone tried them? They are kind of expensive though. I think it's cheaper to buy the sample size bottles of Tide or All at Target.

I haven't had trouble with packing powdered detergent in my luggage. I put it in the outer pocket, just in case, though. I figure, what are the chances that someone sneaking illicit substances will put them in the outside pocket of their suitcase? :)
