We're sailing aboard the Allure of the Seas in June. I am debating about whether or not to do one of the alcoholic drink packages available. We sailed RCCL about 3 years ago and aboard a Carnival ship last summer so I have some idea of drink prices, but I'm trying to get some ball park figures on current RCCL drink prices. Anybody who has recently sailed, do you remember average prices for frozen drinks, beer, wine, sodas?
I understand that on average it is probably cheaper just to order what we want and skip the package, I just kind of like the idea of pre paying and not having to worry about prices.:)

That's probably right, but it depends on how much you drink.

If you get the package, you'll likely drink more.

We were on the Enchantment in January. Beer prices were $5.65 with tip and my wife's margaritas ranges from $7-$9 (if my memory serves correct) I wish I would have done the drink package. But as stated it really does depend on your consumption. I will know for next time.

As mentioned, it depends how much you drink and how long your cruise is. The figures that were mentioned in relation to the prices... that should help you get a good idea of whether or not its worth it. Hope this helps.

Another thing to think about is how many port days you have. If you're on the Eastern cruise that is in port 5 of the 7 days, will you *really* be on board enough to get your money's worth?

Some will, absolutely! Others won't, and it's a good thing to think about ahead of time. :)

FWIW, I did the non-alcoholic package ($20 for virgin mocktails, coffees, and sodas) and it was totally worth it not to have to stress about how much each drink was costing me. Some days we broke even, some days Royal probably made a couple of bucks off of me. I signed up to do it again on my next cruise, though, because it made life so easy onboard.
