My kids have too many pins for their lanyards. We are looking for something to hold their collections. I know I can get pin bags or books at WDW, but I was hoping to find something closer to home.

Does anyone have any ideas where I might find something locally (I am in the New York City suburbs so there are lots of stores locally, but I don't really know where to look.

I suppose I could just buy them another lanyard, but I was hoping to find something that would protect the collection. I prefer not to buy on the internet. Any ideas where I should look and what options might be available?

One of the best things you can do is go to an office supply store and buy a 2" or 3" three ring binder that seals up with a zipper. You can then use inserts such as felt, very heavy paper, or plastic cardholder sheets to hold the pins. Be sure to have a sheet of heavy paper between each page of pins to protect the faces from the potential of getting scratched by pinbacks. Some of these binders (such as Mead) have a slot between the mechanism and the outside where you can feed a luggage strap through.

I have 3 of the zippered notebooks, I buy a couple yards of felt and cut them to page size, punch holes in them and walla you have a pin book. I put pins on everyother page. The felt is bery plyable and may not always stay flat but if you take care when turning pages and making them lay flat after it is closed they do stay put. You could also buy a heaver grade of felt precut to size but it is more expensive. I also was able to find notebooks that disney characters on the outside.

I bought mine from ebay. It's a very cute zipper backback that's shaped like Mickey's head, all black.

Try a local hard rock cafe, they have pin bags with their logo on them in most of their restaurants.

Thanks for the ideas. I took my kids to Walmart to look for a zipper type binder. We wound up getting zipper CD holders that hold 48 CDs for around $6. I cut out the plastic part of the pockets, leaving the soft backing part of the pockets. I put two pages together to give the pages a little more support and the kids put the pins on the pages. I left one empty page between pin pages to keep the faces from getting scratched by the pin backs. The result was 4 pages holding pins and 4 divider pages. Each page holds between 10 and 20 pins depending on the size of the pins. I figure it will hold about 60 in total.
