I can borrow enough points to stay in the Magic Kingdom view room but is it worth it. Should I save the points and stay in standard or do the better view. TIA:confused3

Personally we just go for the standard view and just look at MK from the elevator lobbies and the TOWL.

We had a nice view of the lake and pool which was good for people watching of an afternoon. We were generally out late at the parks or popped up to the TOWL :goodvibes

We loved the lake view. We could see for miles. IMHO, I don't think it's worth it to upgrade a view.

We had lakeview and loved it. We were in the north wing, inner circle, and could see the pool, docks, and boats going back and forth. Awesome views of the EWP at night.

With the MK view you are still looking at a vast expanse of parking lot.

Its really the luck of the draw with BLT views. Some standard views show MK while some MK views show the MK parking lot. Some lake views are incredible while some have views of the lake that can only be seen while leaning out of your balcony one side or the other. With that said, your best chance of getting the type of view that you want is to book that particular view and hope for the best. But, since you asked for personal opinions, we have stayed at a lake view that was pretty crappy so our plans currently are to only book standard views for now and save our points. We might change our mind in the future, but that's out plan for now. Happy planning! :goodvibes

Given that an MK view room can be as low as the 3rd floor, I would not spend extra points for those rooms.

I do think that people who end up getting a higher floor have a wonderful view and experience, there is no guarantee of that, even if you request it. And, everyone requests having a higher floor and at some point, if the resort is full, people are going to end up on the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th floor so that could be you.

We originally booked SV for part of our summer trip. We ended up changing to LV because DH really didn't want to be 1st floor. With a LV, we have a much better chance of getting the higher floor and it was only 9 extra points for the 3 nights we will be there.

If I ever spent all those points for MK view and ended up 3rd floor, I would be disappointed. I will view the MK from TOWL or the other parts of the resort.

I've stayed in MK view and Lake view. Both were great. I think I would continue to book Lake view in the future and save the points. Our Lake view room was on the outer circle and we had a great view of MK from the porch. Of course, there were too many bugs out there to use it. We went to TOTW to watch the fireworks from inside (bugless).

We have stayed 3x in a 1BR Standard View & all locations have been great. We are staying Lake View in August only because I couldn't get Standard.

I'm a points miser. Since I don't really think there's a bad view in the place, I don't think I could ever pay the extra points for the MK view (that said, we always used to stay CR Tower-MK View :confused3).

If you want to be able to stay in a lake view in the future don't book MK view now. We booked MK view and would be disappointed with anything else. Personally I think the extra points are worth the MK view. The sounds of the MK alone when the sliding doors are open is amazing

I'm going with MK view in Dec. and LV in April from now on. We loved the MK view when we stayed this past April for the first time. But I think I'll save that view for Christmas when the lights are on the Castle.

We loved our Lake View last December. We faced the CR pool and could see Epcot, DHS, and AK in the distance. We could even see the Epcot fireworks.

We're going to try MK view in October. Really hope we aren't in a 3rd/4th floor MK view room, but it all comes down to luck. Hard to imagine paying so many more points than someone a floor below who has basically the same view.

If you're concerned about points this year, I would go with Lake View. In our opinion, some of the Lake Views have better views than the low floor MK views. For that matter, I think some of the pictures from some standard views are better than the pictures from 3rd/4th floor MK view rooms.

I would save the money on the view. A lady paid for a MK view and this is what she got.
She asked mgmt to move her and they said no. :(

I loved our lake view, we could even see the Magic Kingdom from our balcony.

go with standard or lake view - MK view start on the 2nd floor and go up.

anything under 7th floor MK view - isn't that great of a view (7th floor is around 5th floor CR)

really have enjoy the standard views - even the one Lv (big tree in the way)

regardless of the view you get - definitely one night go to TOWL deck and see the fireworks.

I guess I'll be the contrarian here. We bought at BLT just to get the MK view. Granted we had the 11th floor last year :

But there is nothing like turning off all the lights in the room, putting the chairs in front of the huge window, tuning the TV to channel 20 (I think), and watching WISHES in your pj's ( or whatever you "wish" :scared1: )

This December we will have an MK view 1 bdr for my daughter's wedding. Hoping for a high floor -- maybe given the $$ the wedding is costing I'll get a GV upgrade !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back last week from BLT. Had a lake view booked and was VERY disappointed with our 2nd floor partial view of the lake but we were able to see space mtn also which helped.By the end of our trip the view had grown on us.We spent EVERY night at TOTW for wishes that was wonderful.

Gotta say felt the MK view was "magic". We had a 9th floor......I thought MK was anything 4th and above ---but someone said 2nd and above ? So that is suprising and admit I wouldn't be happy with anything under the 5th ?
But LOVED watching the monorail go back and forth with the MK view....also the ferry and sounds of the ferry and WDW Railroad in the morning.......saw the afternoon Castle fireworks as well as the nighttime ones.

We also had a Lake view. Nice too but not that "wow" factor for us. I also wouldn't be nearly as pleased with a pool view as with an outer room full-on Bay Lake view.

So, if you have the points to spare, go for the MK view. If you're a little tight or want to stretch your points further, the Lake view is very nice. Just a preference for MK view here :goodvibes

Our MK views from last month :
