Hello to the experts out there!
We're planning for a visit next year, probably late April- early May, and are wondering about which week to go. Are there any school vacations, events or other things to be aware of? Two adults, no kids this trip, so looking for lower crowds and good weather!
Thanks!

First week of May is generally pretty good for crowd levels. Not sure about last week of April (that may depend on when Easter falls, etc)

April 25-April 30 involve 2 big cheer championships.
Two more big cheer championships are May 4-6 and May 11-13.
Both will have before and after days involved for park time.

BUT I LOVE MAY! I wouldn't hesitate to go anytime in May, the crowds pick up Memorial Day weekend.

With Easter early in April next year I would guess that either late April or early May would have lower crowds. It is a wonderful time to visit as the weather starts to warm up but it is still relatively dry.

We are going May 4-13, 2018 so last year I watched the weather that same week just to see what we might be in for. It was HOT with temperatures in the lower to mid 90s daily. I don't know if this is typical for early May but I guess if it happens next year we'll be enjoying the resort pools a lot!

We love May and have gone the past several years around the same time, within the first three weeks. My kids are adults now so we schedule our departure date based on when my youngest's college semester ends. We leave literally the day after finals!

The weather is beautiful and not yet "surface of the sun", but it does get very hot sometimes. Flower and garden is still going on too, which is great. We like to go in the Fall too but I think May is a little less crowded. We sometimes run into the cheerleaders but never had an issue. It mostly seemed to be whole families with cheerleaders as opposed to large groups of them on their own. (And not anywhere as bad the the summer tour groups of 30+ unsupervised kids)

I've been able to get the ADR's and fast passes we want with no problems for our past trips. This upcoming trip will be our first since Pandora opened so I don't know about those FOP FP+ yet, but we're prepared to rope drop if necessary.

We went last May and it was hot, crowds were good, I would definitely do it again if it wasn't so hard with our schedules. The only week I would avoid is the last week as some schools are already out by then.

The year we went a couple of days topped 100. It was so very hot...

In 2016 we had some chilly mornings that we needed a hoodie in the parks. The highs that time were in the 80's some days. Other days were 90. It's way more bearable to me than the summer, which we usually avoid.

I was there May 7-12 this year and yes, it was very hot. But it wasn’t humid like it is in the summer. I’ve also been in August and that felt way worse. Crowds weren’t bad though, and flower & Garden was still going on at Epcot. We had a nice trip. It was a good time to go despite the heat.

I went May 5-13 this year and I thought it was great. Yes, it was hot but like PP said, we didn’t have that humidity (like I always have every September). Crowds were good..very manageable. I barely even noticed the cheerleaders. I’d definitely go again during that time.

We are hoping to be there for one of the cheer competitions May 11-13. Avoid the All-Stars and Coronado Springs unless you really want to be surrounded by thousands of cheerleaders.
