looking for off site resort for young children

I am using Yahoo travel digging thru for resorts for a quick family trip the first week of august. Our oldest two will be vacationing with their father so we thought we might take the 4 and 6 year old for a 4-5 night trip to Orlando. Not really to do WDW or Universal. Just to kick back and have a little family fun.

I refuse to waste my money and stay at Nick hotel-blech! Terrible reviews.

But we are looking at Reunion Resort- any opinions? We like that its a big complex, we will have a rental car but with the food, water park and such on property we may not feel the need to leave other than a grocery run, etc.

Any other area resorts that are kid/family friendly for a 4 and 6 year old and doesnt cost the moon?

Thru Yahoo I can get 4 nights at Reunion, a full size rental and airfare for 1850.00. Not bad!

I'm looking into Reunion myself for spring break 2011 and was attracted to the water park, but have since found out it may cost $20 per person per day or may not be available at all to non home owners (depending on who you ask). Apparently there are plenty of other pools available, but of course we want the water park for our kids.

Check out Windsor Hills as they have a TDF pool, the prices are spec. there. I agree about the Nick Hotel, too noisy for us and you don't get much bang for your buck there. We have a 6 and 7 year old and love Windsor Hills.

Wyndham Bonnet CreeK has awesome pools, including 2 Lazy rivers. The tubes are free (many resorts charge for them. They also have mini glof (also free) and daily activities planned.

The full kitchen is a great plus.
