Some friends are going to Disney December 21 - 24. They have 3 kids 7, 5 and 3 and have been to Disney the past 2 years.

Those stays have been at AKL in a standard room and then WL Villa in a 2 bedroom where they were spoiled by the space.

They are interested in checking price off site for a 2 bedroom in hopes that they could save some money. I am not familiar will such locations.

They are looking for something NICE. They are also interested in the Grand Floridian, but would rather have more space.

Can anyone make any recommendations?:goodvibes

We recently returned from a visit where we stayed at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek resort. We have stayed there twice before and have enjoyed all our visits there and have never been disappointed. They have 1,2, and 3 bedroom units available. The resort is actually located right in the middle of disney property right next to the Carribean Beach Resort. The resort consist of 3 separate pool areas so there is plenty to do just at the resort. Many people on the forum have rented units there from Ken Price. I have not but maybe someone will post his website for you.

We are renting next month from Parkway International - we haven't stayed there yet ourselves but have read many good reviews and the price is definitely right for a 2 bed 2 bath condo. You may want to check it out.

I second Bonnet Creek. We just returned yesterday after spending 11 days there. It was awesome! We didn't want to leave. We also rented from Ken Price. I got everything I requested. The place was super clean, the staff was really nice. You have to enter Disney property to get to Bonnet Creek. We had a view of Hollywood Studio's. We could see Tower of Terror, Fantasia hat and the water tower with Mickey ears. We could also see Pop Century. We are ready to go back!

My vote is for Bonnet Creek as well. I stayed for a week 2 weeks ago.. and wished I didn't have to leave.. we loved it.. the ages that were with me were
21, 16 & 13

I checked out Ken Price's site and it looks like you don't know what you get other than a certain sized unit at Bonnet Creek until you get there, is that correct? I'm looking for something with a little Disney theming (like Story Time @ Windsor Hills), but I can only get that by booking a particular condo/townhouse that has pics of the actual rooms. Can I get that through KP?

TIA

Just email Ken with what you are looking for and he will call you back. I needed a 2 bedroom and he gave me a 2 bedroom. You know what you are getting. After he books for you, you will receive a confirmation directly from Bonnet Creek. It can't hurt to just email him. We totally felt like we were on Disney property!

There is no Disney themeing, but you enter onto Disney property, going under the Disney sign, welcoming you to Disney. My kids were disappointed about not staying on Disney property because they were going to miss Stacey. If you don't know Stacey, she is the perky host for the Top 7 Must Sees at Disney. When you turn on your tv, she is there - you either love her or cringe. We love Stacey! And guess what, when the kids turned on the tv Stacey was there to greet us. They were so happy. She was on all 3 tv's.

We brought Disney window gel clings and put them up on the bathroom mirrors. We had Tinkerbell, Little Mermaid and Cars. The kids love them. We used them last year to decorate our window at Pop. I had bought them from Target.

The only reason I would stay on Disney property now is if I was doing the Dining plan. I actually enjoyed not doing the dining plan this year because we were able to venture out a little. We ate at Sweet Tomatoes, Rainforest Cafe, Margarittaville, Hard Rock Cafe, and we even got the Kitchen Sink from Beaches and Cream.

Thanks for the info. We're still deciding whether to keep our ressie at the Beach Club or go off-property. I don't know Stacey - it's my first time at WDW since the week it opened in October 1971, my husband's first since '79 and my DD's first altogether. I'm guessing she hasn't been working there for 38 years! :rotfl:

Being at the Beach Club would be great for our "first" visit, but we could stay a few more days if we rent and then be there for the opening of MVMCP on 11/10. Bonnet Creek seems like it'd be almost like being on-property, anyway.

Decisions, decisions...I'll call Ken if we decide to rent.

:thanks:

Bonnet Creek is a timeshare resort, not individual-ownership. All the units are decorated identically. There may not be any hidden mickeys on the bedspreads, but I could look out my sliding glass door from the middle of the kitchen and BAM! there was Spaceship Earth.

We have stayed at Parkway International and enjoyed it so much. We had 2 bedrooms and a
sleeper sofa in the living room. The kitchen and
washer and dryer were so handy. There was also
a screened in patio area. We will be staying there
again end of Sept. The price can't be beat and the
location is good. The property is so nice and very
tropical.

Hi shellbelle,
We have a 2-bdrm suite booked in Nov at Royale Parc Suites. It features one king room, and the second has 2 double beds. Plus two full baths, LR and kitchen, all in 830 sq.ft.

It is a Disney Good Neighbor hotel, just in front of Celebration, with free shuttles to parks and DTD, free WiFi, and free full breakfast buffet!! It cost LESS than an onsite moderate resort for the same days.

Our Nov trip is not Disney, but to (hopefully) let my Dad see a shuttle launch. We decided we'd rather stay in Orlando instead of Cocoa Beach, so we could still get a taste of the magic. :wizard:

Ditto! Maybe we'll see ya at breakfast! ;)

Check out the price at hotels.com and make sure you don't accidently get the nonrefundable room on accident.

I'll likely be sporting a Lime Green Mickey Head, so be on the lookout!

I booked directly with the hotel (AAA rate), and it's got a 72-hr cancellation policy. So the only thing that'll mess us up is if the launch is postponed closer than 3 days out!!!!! :upsidedow

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for Wyndham Bonnet Creek - upscale, gated, and phenomenal location (easily accessble to Downtown Disney as well as many offsite restaurants on SR535). Our view was great (watched the fireworks from our balcony each night - Epcot and MK both)!
