Looking For New Experiences...

Only buses that usually go to WWoS on a regular basis are from the all stars.
Bus transportation to the sports complex is available if there are events taking place. The Spring Training games do have bus transportation. When they do operate, it's from three resorts, All-Star Sports, Caribbean Beach and Pop Century. They will arrive on the hour and half hour. Other than that, you're on your own. If you're not staying at one of the three resorts, I'd Uber/Lyft or taxi.

Thank you. I am staying at Music so it wouldn't be much of a walk to go from there to Sports. I just know I'll be wanting to go to the parks before and after so I'm thinking Lyft/Uber would be my best option if I decide to go to a spring training game.

If you're a serious baseball fan, you'll enjoy the experience. IMO, Champion Stadium is among the finest, if not the finest Spring Training/Minor League ball parks in the country. Tickets are not cheap and depending on the teams playing, very hard to get, so get them ASAP.

Will do. I'll get them tomorrow if I decide to do it.

One thing I am wondering...Do you know if Disney characters have meet & greets in baseball/sports attire during the game? I know you can see the characters at various points of the game on the field based on different blogs I have watched, but haven't found if the characters do meet and greets.

DAK was so worth it for me. I went on so many rides!

It was very refreshing to have an emptier park, even though my night was sold out(1/20/18), it was not crowded at all. I wish it was offered during other times of the year, but I am glad I got to experience it.

DH and I really like the Savor the Savannah tour. We have gone on it x2 and enjoyed our selves very much. Since you have done the Wild Trek, the Boma is the same but you get to spend more time there. There are also drinks included, the African Beer is really good!

Does the Aqua Seas Tour interest you? My family has done Dive Quest many times and have really enjoyed the backstage area and the aquarium.

I also enjoyed the Illuminations Dessert Party. I am not a huge dessert person, more savory for me. The Cheese Fondue was so good!! My table was by the bar and right up front. I was super pleased. I like that there is seating and enjoy sitting with other people.

We were going to try the Highway in the Sky dining experience, but when they changed the Poly stop from Trader Sam's to the lobby and a couple menu changes, we canceled our booking. Instead we did our own tour and it was so much fun.

I'm confused. I thought DAK was Disney's Animal Kingdom?

I think the Spring Training idea is a good one. Even if it is for one game...something different to do.

I would also say (if you have a vehicle) perhaps you might consider volunteering or even visiting the Give Kids the World (GKTW) Village.

I began volunteering at GKTW in the 90s and as you would expect, they did a complete background check at that time. I know that they still screen prospective volunteers, so if that's something that interests you, I recommend finding out ahead of time what's involved. Below is the volunteer webpage.

I love all the tour suggestions and info provided but if you want to minimize extra costs, have you considered checking out all the quiet areas & attractions at each park that many people pass by in their rush to hit the headliners? I did this the other year & was pleasantly surprised by the following:

  • MK: Tom Sawyer's Island, River Boat, Railroad and Speedway (hadn't done that since I was 7yrs old);
  • AK: Conservation Station with viewable Vet operations/procedures & Tree of Life trails/animals;
  • Epcot: all the World Showcase films and walking deep back into Canada, Morocco & Japan Pavilions;
  • HS: always the tough park but hit the old attractions one last time before they disappear: Muppets, Indiana Jones & Little Mermaid come to mind. ps no inside info that they may close but the park is going through huge changes & we have already lost favs.

People have been clambering for a fifth Disney park, well there is a fifth park and get this, it's free to get in. The Disney Wilderness Preserve is less than 45 minutes away from WDW and if you like the outdoors, you may want to consider it, and no, there are no character meet and greets.

If you haven't already visited, another free thing to do is visit the town that Disney built, the town of Celebration. You can either walk around or rent a bike. There are restaurants and shops in the downtown area and it's a good place to go exploring if you into nature or architecture.

There is a very interesting tour at Epcot that I can recommend, World Showcase Undiscovered. DH and I took it and really enjoyed it. On ours it was DH, me, and 1 other solo guest. We had a fabulous guide and learned so much about Epcot and it's construction.

That is definitely something to consider the next time I go or a time that I rent a car. One thing I would love to do is go back to the Kennedy Space Center.

Thank you for the input. I think I'm going to attend the Spring Training game. I just might buy my ticket a little closer to the game since Florida weather is unpredictable starting around now.

Don't know, but I go to at least one game each season and am at the complex for other reasons regularly and haven't noticed a meet and greet.
Thank you. I think I'm going to give a game a try.

I always do attractions like this...

MK: The river boat is closed my trip. I always do at least one grand circle on the railroad (I'm a train person :D ). I don't remember the last time I went on Tom Sawyer's Island, because I can't really see the reason in going over there. I will never ride the Speedway at WDW lol. I enjoy the Autopia a lot better at Disneyland.
AK: I always go to the Conservation Station, and I am really thinking about trying to do the free tour over there.
EPCOT: I already have planned to see every film. I always like seeing the films.
HS: I'm planning on seeing Muppets and Indiana Jones at DHS.

That is another tour I very much considered. It was definitely on the higher price point, and I am not going for as many days as I normally would. For me giving 5 hours to just walking around, it might not be as worth it to me. I am definitely keeping this tour for a future trip.

Yes! You must make time to go see Bob! He's a Disney icon!
I am going to try my best to go see him, but I am not going to guarantee it since my schedule is as packed as it usually is already lol.

Thank you everyone for your input! I have settled on the original 3 that I was considering. So, I'll be attending the Disney After Hours event, going on Caring For Giants, and taking in a Spring Training game. I just hope there are still tickets available for Spring Training the week of, because I don't want to buy a ticket for a game when i don't know what the Florida weather will be like.

If I have a chance, I might make it over to POR to see Yehaa Bob. I can't guarantee that though.

Any other suggestions that were made on this thread, I will hold onto for another future trip to WDW.

Thanks everyone!
