We've been to WDW several times now with the kids. Out of all these times Dh and I have yet to see Illuminations. We are going to WDW for two nights just the two of us (first time alone in 14 years, LOL). Now I know we won't be able to squeeze in a lot but what would you suggest as a must see or do? We've done almost every little kid centered attraaction and show.

Its hard to say as I don't know what you've seen and not seen, but definitely Illuminations is great to see. If you can get a reservation at the Rose and Crown for 8:00 ish you can ask for an outside table and get a great view. It looks like you're going soon(?) so it may be too late to get a reservation though.

If you've done a lot of kid centered things in the past You should really poke around the world showcase in Epcot (if you haven't already). The atmosphere is really great, a lot of live entertainment (it will be in the park progam). Get there early for Illiminations though as it gets crowded. The crowds to get out of the park after are really heavy also. We like to go out the international gateway and walk through the Boardwalk (also fun for grown ups!) and stroll down the waterway to Disney Studios and catch the bus there (as long as DS is not closing early that night). Its a pretty walk.

Enjoy your trip without kids:)

Thanks for the ideas. I have never been to the boardwalk. Epcot is open late our night there so we are really hoping to spend some time there instead of just looking for mask stations;).

go see cirque its amazing and well worth the money, boardwalk is a great place to spend some evening hours!:thumbsup2

Oh So lucky!!! We did this for DW's 30th birthday, just the two of us for the Food and Wine Festival, MNSSHP and HHN at Universal. What an amazing time we had.

WHEN are you going can have an impact, if it's in October/November, dEFINITELY check out the food and Wine. Definitely all the night shows, Illuminations FOR SURE ( my personal favorite ), Wishes and Fantasmic! There's also lots of fine dining to be had when you're kidless ( Check out jiko! ). Cirque du Soleil: La Nouba?

But really... doing any of the rides you've done before and love, but just the two of you, will be different. Whether it's pirates, Everest, Haunted Mansion it doesn't matter cause it's all about you two.

I went in April with my Dh and left the kids at home. We were there three nights. The things I enjoyed most without the kids were eating at the restaurants, lounging by the pool (I didn't have to watch anyone) and browsing through the shops.

As a treat to ourselves (okay really me Dh isn't the disney lover that I am) we took the keys to the kingdom tour. Only adults are allowed. It took us through the "backstaging" areas of the magic kingdom. The tour is around 4 hours and includes lunch. It was $60 each plus you had to pay to get into the park.

I'm working on a trip report about it now but if you pop over to the trip report boards you will find a couple other "Adult only" trips to follow. You might get some other ideas.

Have fun planning!

how about high tea at the GF one afternoon?

That is true:thumbsup2. We had gone with both sets of grandparents and another family. I had no little ones on my lap during Fantasmic and it was like I had never seen it before. It's amazing how much you don't see when your watching your kids faces ;) instead.

Thank for the ideas. I had never even thought of the Keys to the Kingdom tour (even though Dh and I always say when the kids are older we've got to do that). I'll be phoning to see if there is any availibility (spur of the moment trip in 12 days). I'll check out some of the trip reports.

I have that booked for DD and I for her birthday next month. We are going on a just Mom and Daughter two night trip. We are both looking forward to that.
