Just back from WDW we stead at the WL. Is it I or is Disney putting less effort into their Christmas decorations. It looks like they just put up the bare minimum just to get by.I remember when FW all of the light post and all bus stations had lights garland on them. Just looking to see if anyone remembers this. :confused3

So glad that I'm not the only one that has noticed. I posted about this in a previous post (can't remember which thread). We have been going to Ft. Wilderness for the last 10 years. The past 4 years I have noticed that each year there are fewer Christmas decorations up. They used to put lighted garlands on each lamp post, on all the bus stops and stores. They had Christmas trees at the campfire program. None of this is there this year. It's so disappointing.

If you look in the Rumors and News Thread you'll see a post about fewer Christmas decorations throughout all of Disney World.

It not just FW all of the parks and hotels when it comes to Christmas decorations Disney is doing a weak job.

I'm sorry to hear that. I have never been to Disney at Christmas...but had always heard of the wonderful decorations. In fact, don't they feature the Wilderness Lodge on the travel channel in regards to their decorations at Christmas time?...at least that's what I've heard. It's a shame to think they are skimping on the decorations..especially since they are making more money than ever, and travel to the parks is up. Doesn't sound like they are putting it back into the parks or hotels. I imagine that FW at Christmas would look wonderful with all the light posts decorated. I would think that there could be alot done to have it appear very festive. I do hope it isn't that they are being politically correct and not decorating with Christmas decorations...just minimal winter type decorations...that would be a real shame.

With the way some long term camping residents are decorating and not just for Christmas, I think that Disney might be leaving it up to their guests to pick up where they have left off.

Seems to have become a "who can spend more and make it bigger" competition.

We were at WDW and FW 2 weekends ago and it just didn't feel the same.

the tree by the settlement also was much smaller than in past years, if I recall correctly i thought I saw a tricycle on the big tree in the past, the tree this year would probably tip over if it had a tricycle on it. :confused3
