Looking for Last Minute Suggestion for Dinner ADR

I've got Ohana for dinner, Chefs for lunch, 50's prime time for lunch, Tusker House for breakfast, Teppan Edo for lunch, and Hoop Dee Doo for dinner....

I can't do a signature because I have one Dining credit left per person.

We were thinking on this particular day to do a water park, but it's really more of a free day.

Essentially, I just want a good place to eat with wife and kids...doesn't have to be character dining....needs to be for dinner......

Any thoughts?

(BTW, how is the Big River Grill or that thing by Kat Koura?)

Since it's a 'free' day you'll want to eat at a resort, not in a park.

How about Boma (also lets you tour AKL a bit, which is fun if you haven't been there)? Good food, neat atmosphere.

Or for a more classic-Disney experience, 1900PF. Dinner there gives you Cindy and her Prince, but the real stars are the evil Stepmother and Stepsisters. They interact really well with older teens and adults - closest thing you can get nowadays to a villain meal. Food is a buffet; some things appealed to me while others did not.

Any plans for the evening? Have you ever been to POR and seen Bob Jackson's show? Have dinner at Boatwrights and then go next door to the lounge. He's a great entertainer and both the show and the environment are kid-friendly as well . I know he's there Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; not sure about Sundays. Best of all, the show is free; only 'charge' is that if you are sitting at one of the main tables in the lounge you have to purchase a beverage but it does not need to be alcohol.

BRG I've never tried, but my neighbor's have eaten at KK & after the 1st ok experience, they thought they'd give it another try, & were once again underwow'd.
I ws going to suggest maybe a DTD, evening, & Bongo's would be my choice...It seems this always gets overlooked. They are on the Dp this year too. It's authentic Cuban/Puerto rican food. Great food , atmoshphere, great service, and a beautiful setting. Give it a try...The other one I would suggest is Tutto Italia...A lot of bang for your disney crdit buck.. Have fun and enjoy!

haha you beat me to it. when I was typing , this thread wasn't up, but I would also second this, after the other ones I suggested. Food is very good there, & Yeehaw Bob's is a great family fun night, or just a great adult night too...

I like these suggestions. Boma might be cool....I may try that first. Is the food the type that your typical picky kids might enjoy?

Here's the problem - I've got a Flying Fish reservation our last night. I was hoping to eat there and then do the Boardwalk thing. But I have no credits left.

Grrrrr.......

Am thinking of sucking it up and eating there anyway, but thought another option elsewhere might be better (and a bit more affordable).

Oddly enough, I just called WDWDINE and changed the Teppan Edo lunch reservation to Le Cellier. For no other reason than we have Japanese steakhouses here, and I think Le Cellier would be better.

Sanaa is another one credit meal that's getting a lot of positive buzz. I recomended it to a friend and she LOVED It...food and atmosphere.

Another thought if it's in the budget...breakfasts are the least expensive meals of the day in most cases. Have you considered paying Tusker House OOP so you have 2 credits to put towards a signature? I normally don't like signatures on the standard dining plan b/c of the lack of appetizer, but it's just another idea.

I thought about paying Tusker house OOP, but I would need to pay something else OOP as well because I need 2 for Flying Fish and they don't let you split...1/2 plan 1/2 off.

By the time you add two OOP experience, you might as well pay FF off plan.

I love walking around the boardwalk area. In fact, we probably won't venture to DTD this time. I'd much rather stroll the boardwalk. If you did that, you might consider Cape May Clam Bake. If you're considering paying out of pocket anyway, maybe a restaurant that's not on DDP. Like Shula's or BlueZoo. Both very good.

I agree. Breakfast is the cheapest meal of the day... we NEVER use our DDP credit for breakfast.

While we LOVED the atmosphere at AKL and being able to see the animals and walk around the property, the meal at BOMA was not my family's favorite. DH and I are willing to try most anything when it comes to food, but the kids - not so much. While they did have an OK buffet area for t he kids, it wasn't enough.

I am not sure if you are looking for a restaurant in a resort, park or what.. but here are my suggestions:

Another few ideas for restaurants that we really liked over our past few visits:
- Whispering Canyon (@ WL)
- Grand Floridan Cafe (One of the best meals we had one trip and they always have reasonable time slots open)
- Crystal Palace at MK - Our most favorite buffet at WDW. food is outstanding!
- KONA (@ Poly has great food as well)
- Rainforest Cafe - (We go here almost every trip. Great atmosphere, huge range on the menu: burgers and apps to salads and expensive meals. This is also part of the DDP now. There are two locations - AK and DTD)
