Looking for INFO on LAX and MR Cruise

Will be going on Mex Riv cruise would like to find some info -

Can anyone suggest best hotel to say at close to LAX the night before? I was booking and didn't see the hotel ad on option to stay at Disneyland the night before with our ground transfers anyone know why? I was looking on mapquest and it looks like LAX - Disneyland - Cruise port would be back tracking? We are from Canada and have never been to LA. Any info much appreciated!
