When do the decorations go up? What special parades, shows etc are there, and are they only on weekends or during the week too? Any info would be appreciated :teeth:
Thank you!

We go to DL everyyear at Thankgiving and the park is decorated at this time. They have a special "Christmas" themed parade usually twice a day. Be sure to attend the nightly fireworks display as well, it actually snows on Main Street!!!:p . Best bet is to be in the middle of Main street to get the best view and effects.
It's A Small World is also a must see, the whole ride inside and out is decorated, just a fantastic sight.

Don't foget the cam corder/camera, you will not want to miss getting all the those great pics!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I think the offical Holiday season starts the first weekend of November. This is when It's a Small World Holiday is opened and all the decorations are up. Haunted Mansion Holiday is usually open mid October.

The decorations are very pretty. Last year they had a sleigh on mainstreet and we got some wonderful pictures of the kids in it. We used it for Christmas cards.

They do fireworks nightly and the snow on mainstreet is pretty. we watchted the fireworks from in front of the castle and the colors were amazing.

The character have different Holiday clothes. Mickey and Minnie wear sweaters and the princesses have capes, gloves, hats, mittens....that type of thing.

Have fun and take lots of film.

All of the Christmas activities sound great, but do they have them, espicially the snow, during the middle of the week? or only on weekends? Thank you!

In years past they have had the snow and fireworks 7 days a week, along with the parade twice a day starting thanksgiving day.

<font color=darkgreen>The Haunted Mansion, Nightmare Before Christmas is already up (we were there on Saturday :) ).

November 7th - Decorations will be up, Dickens carolers, Holiday Believe fireworks show (every night to Jan 4th), It's a Small World Christmas makeover (you need to see it at night).

Recommendation - see It's a Small World in the daytime because @ night you're looking at a 2-hour wait, or 30+ mins for Fastpass - it's a zoo there @ night - but very beautiful.

Snow falls on Main Street, New Orleans Square, and over the Small World Promenade after the fireworks

November 21 - Holiday Parade @ Disneyland (this year, it starts the week before Thanksgiving)

The sight I miss are the two Christmas trees that they used to put in the moat in front of the Castle -- we were there when there was a micro-burst of wind that knocked the trees over (one of them fell on someone, but he ended up okay).

They never did put them up again -- the tree in Town Square will go up, and it's HUGE! They also put one up in Grand Californian lobby - very pretty.

From what I remember - California Adventure is also decorated, but not as elaborately as Disneyland, and the colors run more towards a gold & white theme. Downtown Disney is also decorated and they play holiday music.

The whole area is just beautiful at this time of year.

Thank you so much for the information! I am planning on going the first week of December, but we are just driving up & back the same day with our 3 1/2 yr old and 3 month old. I just wanted to make sure we would see the fireworks and the snow in the middle of the week. Thanks again! ::MinnieMo
