I am hoping some of you can give me insight into Branson.
We don't want to drive to Disney this year - so we can include our older son in the trip - to much time off for work.

It will be 2 adults in their 30's and 13 year old and 19 year old.

Will there be enough for us to do??

What are you favorite places to stay, dine and attractions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Been to Branson numerous times, planning a family trip again this year, we camp so can not help you on motels but there are plenty of them. Check out www.1branson.com tons of info for shows, go cart tracks, mini golf, waterpark, ride the ducks, Titanic, food, fishing, shopping, etc. Shows are not cheap but most of them are very good, Chinese Acrobats, Legends in
Concert, Baldnobbers, Presleys. There is a new show called Noah that just opened, hopefully we can see that this time down. Also check out Silver Dollar City, they have coasters, crafts that probably everyone would enjoy. Hope you have fun at Branson. :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:
Forgot to add another good website, www.branson.com I think there is also one called bransonmom.com that has pretty good info too

When are you going?

If you are going in June & up then I encourage you to rent jet ski's and have fun on TableRock Lake.:thumbsup2

You can prepare prior to the trip and get your kids a "boating license". They can take a safety course so they will be prepared for jet skiing.

TableRock Lake is something that is overlooked in Branson. We are boaters and we stay in cabins off TableRock. Now they are old however they are right next to Silver Dollar City, like 5 mins. Indian Point is a nice location because it is in the middle of Branson West and Branson.:thumbsup2
They are old cabins but they are great for us as we are boaters and they have their own launch.

If you are looking for a new hotel they just built a Hilton in Branson's Landing. Basically it is at the end of Branson opposite Indian Point. You will have to put up with the traffic but just follow the "shortcuts" to get where you are going.

Definitely go to Silver Dollar City, and the waterpark there if you like water parks. We've rented cabins there a few times and have had great luck.

One of our favorites is this one http://www.sugarmaplecabins.com/cabin.asp?property_id=1231

Any of the cabins at Sugar Maple are great, plus they are really high up on the mountain, so they have great views. They are a litttle off the main drag, so you don't have all the traffic, but they are super close to Silver Dollar City, and about 7-8 minute drive to town.

Our hands-down favorite show there was called "Five". It was 5 brothers who sang and were unbelievably talented. This last time we also saw Yakov Smirnoff, and he was ok, not great, but ok. If you have any specific questions, let me know. :)

We love Big Cedar Lodge. It is owned by Bass Pro and it is beautiful. I also second SDC. Not Disney, definitely, but still a nice park with a beautiful setting. Have fun!!

These are in TN......where are they in Branson?

Does your family enjoy nature? We always stay to the south of Branson in the Ozarks and have great times there. We hang out in Eureka Springs, visit caverns, looks for tiny towns and interesting places to shop and just drive. Love the Ozarks!

It is pretty isn't it? We are living in Eureka MO which is the beginning of the Ozarks.

I live on a small bluff.:thumbsup2

I can say with total honesty that I'm jealous. I used to practically run to the Ozarks when things were tense and difficult and it always helped. Beautiful area and nice people. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the suggestions - they are greatly appreciated.

We will be looking into the jet skis and Silver dollar city.

We are all very active - love to rock climb, anyplace to climb in the area.
We would also like to parasail and see some shows.

There are caves as well and tons of parks.

I am not a rock climber so I don't know about that. However somebody has to be climbing somewhere....you are in the Ozarks. Call the local Chamber of Commerce. They know everything or can guide you in the right direction.

Parasailing is there as well.

TableRock is beautiful. You will love it. Rent a potoon boat and a couple of jet ski's.:thumbsup2

Showboat Branson Belle
Dixie Stampede
Check out the Landing
Ride the Ducks
Shepard of the Hills

These are some fun things to do as well I didn't see listed
