We are looking for a nice, clean place to stay at a decent price ($100 or less). We have a car so we do not need to stay within walking distance of DL. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
When will you be traveling?
Hojo's has a great entertainment rate that you can view here: http://www.boards.hojoanaheim.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14
and even if the ent rate isn't available you can get a disboards discount. Its within walking distance and parking is free.
Theres lots of others too just depending on what your needs are.

There are probably 100+ within "driving distance".....but as Kirstie mentions above, why not stay at Hojo, the CCI or one of a handful of others that are on Harbor Blvd. & walking distance (& probably under $100).
imo....Driving/Parking &/or taking a bus to the park is a WDW mindset. Read these:
Thanks for the responses. We are going next year during Spring break (3/22-3/30) so the locations I had checked already had some fairly high rates. I was thinking maybe something 5-10 minutes away by car might be cheaper (and nicer?)
I haven't been to DL in 20 years so I wasn't aware that the parking was so bad. I guess it does make sense to stay close by.
I currently have a WDW AP and was going to check out upgrading to the Premier Pass. That said, I did find a decent annual pass rate of $107 at HOJO.
We are traveling with 2 kids.
We don't have many needs - we just like to feel like we are staying in a decent place that is not run down and dirty. I guess a pool would be required but not sure if the weather will cooperate in March (or are the pools even open?). Included breakfast would also be nice but not necessary.
Not sure how old your kids are but if the weather is nice, Hojo's has a cool kids pool/splash area.
This fall we're staying at Desert Inn and Suites. Sometimes you can get their basic room for as low as $79. Parking is $8. And I've often gotten the Best Western Park Place Inn for an AAA rate of $94 or so. I think they charge $8 for parking too. Both have pools. Desert Inns is even indoors so you could use it rain or shine.
And though I've never stayed there, I've been looking at both BW Stovalls Inn and Alpine Inn for a summer trip next year. Both are coming in under $100 per night for a basic room. Both within walking distance. I know Stovalls has a pool. Not sure about Alpine.
As a family we have now stayed at the Peacock suites 3 times.(A shell hospitality hotel?) Its on the ART bus route and the rooms are nice, clean, have a larger fridge and they provide continental breakfast. There is a pool and 2 hottubs. Parking is not free and they did ask us to come listen to a time share pitch but we declined and they never bothered us again. If we had the money we would obviously stay at a Disney resort hotel but this is cheap and cheerful and we love it!
