It is normal.. In the middle of my own deals right now. It's not my first house, actually it's my fourth, but it feels just like the first one some days. Very normal, lots of daily back and forth. It's not over until you walk away with those keys in your hand. We are closing on our home next Monday and buying one that is under construction which we are going to finish, so we'll be in a rental until it's done. CRazy details, but if you take each one as a necessary step, you will approach it with a positive attitude. The same goes for packing. I have been packing my 3200 sf home with 15 years of accumulation for weeks and weeks. Each and every box I sealed and said " One step closer to my goal" It's all in the attitude. Have fun! Congrats, GothTink! I just saw that you're in St. Louis--the place looks gorgeous!! Whereabouts is it, if you don't mind my asking?

I'm going through the process now myself, moving from StL, where I've lived basically all my life (Wildwood area), to Orlando. I'm excited as can be and want things done NOW. It doesn't help that the place where I'm staying down here is my parents' vacation house and is basically around the corner from the place I'm buying... it's like I see it every single day and yet can't officially do anything to it or for it yet and it's driving me crazy! I'm under contract now, though, with closing supposedly on July 26, so not too much longer.

Packing/unpacking/repacking I'm used to - DH was in the military for 7 years.

It's just the WAITING. Now that the loan's been approved, all we're waiting for is closing. You know...in SIX WEEKS.

Do you ever feel like you're stalking your new house? Our new house is just blocks away. I drive by A LOT. I hope the owners aren't freaked out by my driving by so much...

I'm so avoiding my kitchen til the last minute! The house is just blocks away, so I'm thinking maybe I can just move things over piece by piece. One day the pans, the next the plates, etc.

Thanks for all of the well wishes! It's such an exciting time in our lives. Started packing the books (I have tons!). It'll be hard to wait 6 weeks. I'm hoping they'll be interested in closing early...

Well, two weeks to go til closing and we've hit our first snag. Luckily, today we solved it, but it's been so frustrating! (sellers moved a fene from by th pool tht wasn't supposed to be moved and forgot to tell us...til the city came to do an inspection. but sellers will pay to put it back so it's all good.)

Sadly, I have hardly anything packed! It's aggravating when your darling family seems to believe in packing fairies.
