We're planning a trip September 18-23 of this year. We usually go right after Thanksgiving and we LOVE that time of year. But my DD adores the waterparks and we find that it is usually too cold to spend much time in the water during early Dec. We are hoping that by moving our trip back to Sept we will be able to hit some warmer weather. Am I right? Anything I should know about September? Any reviews on this time of year? I'd love to hear from you....THANKS! :)

hello,

my husband and myself went the last week of sept last year. we usually go the 3rd week of october for our anniversay. but his aunt had a week open in her time share so we took it...

the best part of going at the end of sept, there was no one there!!!!!! i mean no one!! we walked onto everything. they didn't even have the fast passes opened in all four parks. no need, there was no one there!! we were shocked with the parking lots, i never so them so empty, kinda scary!!

sept weather compared to october... sept rained alot more when we were there, a shower prob every night when we were sleeping. when we landed in orlando, they were having a pretty good size storm. lasted about an hour, then it was nice. it wasn't as hot as it is when we go in oct. i bought alot of sleeveless shirts and didn't wear them. i would guess that the average temp must of been around 70-75. don't get me wrong, the temp is alot better than we get around where in ma at that time of the year...

would i go back in sept?? yes, no question about it!!!

This will be my 4th year in a row going in late Sept. I will be there Sept 17-26 and love that time of year. It will still be hot but not as humid as summer. And the nights cool down a little but you can still swim. We usually take a swim about 9 pm to relax. The parks are very easy to navigate with the low crowds. Almost no waiting for major rides and walk ons for alot of other rides. There may not be fireworks each night but I will take low crowds over nightly fireworks anyday.
I really enjoy this time of year.
Heres another vote for late Sept.

We often go in September--always after the labor Day week, but usually one of the weeks thereafter. Weather is always warm/hot but not unbearable and crowds quite manageable. Once in awhile a thunderstorm or two, but cannot recall more than one or two "rainout" days in all the years we've been going.
All in all a fine time to go.
You will find that park hours are shorter, and not a few of the rides still have waits due to the fact that Disney dosen't operate them at full capacity. Just as an example--the boat ride in The Land pavillion. Last trip there was a huge line--only because they had what appeared to be only TWO boats running.

I've gone in mid Sept numerous times and there is NOBODY home! Another positive is that it's plenty warm enough for the water parks.

On the down side, fireworks and Spectro are few and far between. When they do have them, the MK can be mobbed.

It's the height of Love Bug season.

It's hurricane season.

Even with the negatives, September is a wonderful time to be at the World. It's my second favorite, with mid May (F&G, Flower Power Concerts) being my #1.

We were there in 2002 and the weather was great! Sunny and warm every day. It only rained one eve. for about half hour. Walked on to practically all rides. Several rides we stayed on and rode again without getting off. In fact we are planning a quick trip this year possibly! Can't wait. I would recommend going in Sept.

We have been in Sept 9 times. all the weeks. It is really a great time to go....here is why...LOW crowds.

The possible rain, hurricanes, etc just does not outweigh the low crowd levels. It is so nice to be relaxed in the parks. There are usually parades/fireworks on the weekends. The park hours are not all that different than the rest of the non-summer months.

Just be prepared for rain. It usually rains in the afternoons but can be more or less. If you go with shoes/ponchos you will be set.

Have a great time !!:sunny:
