I've been trying to find detergent tabs for our beach vacation. Nowhere to be found here. Check grocery stores and target.

Are they no longer available?

Pretty much the only ones out there are the Purex tabs. I found them at Wally. I did look all over for Tide ones and FINALLY found them in my local small town IGA. YOu might be able to find them, but most likely it wont be at a big name store.

YES they have been discontinued.

Tide Tablets. I think it was $9.99 for the large size box (44 tablets?)

We have a front loader at home, but I will definitely take them on my DVC trips. I havent opened the box yet so Im not sure if they are individually wrapped, but if not I will use Ziplocs.

Why can't you use tabs in a front loader? I used to.

I found some Purex at Walmart but then the following week, all the boxes were gone and haven't seen any since. Don't know why?!?!

I also found little boxes (2 tabs per box) of Wisk at CVS in travel section.

At the dollar stores in St. Louis you I've found (at several different locations) Tide 3 for $1 - 1 load powder boxes. You can also buy (for $1) 2 - taps ( for 1 load) washing detergent. Check your local store you might be surprised what you can get for a buck!!!

Another option I saw this week at my local CVS.....I found a small bottle of liquid Tide. Said it will do 6 loads. It was $3.99.

I used to get the Purex ones at Wal-Mart but when I looked yesterday they weren't there!
I have one packet left from my last trip - I buy them for travel but I usually use them when I run out of detergent at home and need to do urgent laundry - now I will keep them for my next WDW vacation! If I see them around I will post as they are one of my traveling staples.

Thanks everyone.

I'll check our Big Lots store. It's way on the other side of town, so I don't go in there very often.

Maybe I'll just buy detergent in Pensacola if I don't find anything here.

I found the 28 load tablets @ Value City for 3.99 a couple of weeks ago. I always use them when we travel. I really like them -its a shame they will be discontinued, as they are really convenient.

What I always did for the longer trips was put the correct amount of detergent in a ziploc bag. I would also do this with dry bleach and also dryer sheets. I would then put all the sealed bags into a larger ziploc bag and then pack that.

Hi!

If you have access to a military commissary....ours has them all the time! I bought a box a month ago and everytime I have went in they always have ample supply. It was Purex brand.

Thanks carrie, but I live in the middle of cornfields! No military bases around here.

That's what I do too...it works fine.

I just bought a small bottle of liquid Tide at Big Lots for $1.79. It is enough for 8 loads. I think it is called Tide to go! A nice alternative to the tablets!

Wow, thanks to this thread I checked to see if there were any Big Lots in my area, and found one about 1/2 hour away. We went there last night and got a box of 112 Tide tablets for $9.99. They also had the Tide 2 Go bottles for $1.49 each (I think). Now I'm ready to go.

Thanks so much for this info. I never would have known about Big Lots without these boards. BTW, I also got my DD a Disney Princess basinett ($14.99) and Winnie The Pooh stroller ($4.99) for her dolls. They also had Princess high chairs, pack 'n play, and swing.

Thanks for the heads up about BIG LOTS.. I found one near my house and I was also able to get the tide tablets for $9.99... Those should last me for many vacations to come.

Before our May trip, I got a box of Tide tablets for around $7.50 at CVS. I believe you can check Tides website and they will tell you which stores carry their tabs.
