Laura & Kara - yes! The weather sounds so perfect for you guys. We are in the mid 70's this week, and the AMs are still quite chilly here. You could use a sweater, but with your temps in the 80's you should be wonderful all through the day! :yay:

Thanks for the advice. I also got the waterpark and more (but didn't use it) on the last trip. I did change our booking like 3 times. I had originally booked dining, tickets, and room together. I'm thinking of booking the room and then adding on as deals come open.

For the most part, I want to go in May... cause, well, it gets me there faster of course! But I keep thinking that in Oct at 2 1/2 DD would really be more into everything and possibly able to ride a few more things. She is already a dare devil and would LOVE the rides I bet! And everyone seems to LOVE Oct here, so I am putting a lot of faith in you guys!

ON a very sad note Cammie & Kara, I do think that Debbie is winning in the resort dept. DH and I both think the BW is very cool - and the jury isn't in yet (Cammie, his face lit up when I told him about the ESPN Club -"Yeah! I've heard great things about it!" :rolleyes1 ) but I am thinking if the majority of our time will probably be at the resort, in MK, Epcot or at Char dining (CM, CP, and Ohana), then maybe Poly makes more sense this trip. We will see with "deep and profound things" DH has going on inside his brain though! :lmao:

Agggh! It is so nice out today, and let me tell you being inside cleaning is so NOT what I want to be doing today! YUCK! I may go put out some more grass seed in the bare areas today just to be outside for a while and be productive! I got a new windchime today too

Off to wrap gifts and clean. Have a great day everyone!!!!!!

Kara & Laura - Just a few more days!

Good morning! :)

It's still cool today, but at least the sun is out!:sunny:

Actually, looking at her planning journal, she said to have a wedding in MK (or Epcot, too, I guess) with 50 people was $25,000. She's from California and originally wanted her wedding in DL, but that costs $60,000! Now being from the Northeast like me, $25,000 for a wedding isn't alot. My wedding, 15 years ago, cost $20,000 - and I had it in a crappy hotel ballroom in New Jersey! I just had no idea you could have ceremonies in the parks - so cool! (I'll stop obsessing over it now)

That's just wrong.:sad2:

Um, yeah, we missed ya! Stop being productive and come play today!

Did you find anything yummy?

Well, I'm off to the usual today - gym, errands. DD gets out of school early today so I should be home for most of the afternoon.

Kara and Laura - Can't believe you'll both be in WDW this time next week. So jealous!

Wow! That food looked delicious! I loved the colors and the jewelry the bride chose! Her pics were so cute. She didn't get much for her money, but I'll bet the two receptions at WDW had a little something to do with it.

I know that $25K for a wedding probably is reasonable - but that's 2 DVC memberships!!!!! :rotfl2: When DH and I got married, we had both had summer jobs at a golf course in Ohio. I drove the beer cart (best job I EVER had!!!!) and bartended, and he was a starter. Then when my dad retired, he worked there, too. That is where DH and I met, so we had our reception there and the owner charged us everything at cost!!!! So it was a very cheap reception but it had a lot of meaning for us, too.

I bought one of those photo keychains for my mom for Mother's Day - so I'm downloading photos onto it now (heaven knows they won't know how to do it!!!) so I can get it mailed this week for her. I told DH this will be the first time I've ever gotten her Mother's Day present to her on time since I have to mail it early!

Off to ride the kids to the bus stop! I'll be back to play later!

Well, I am officially a Live 365 VIP now!!! I couldn't resist! So I have it running through my Tivo now instead of my computer! Lovin it already!!!!!!

We did a simple and small, yet beautiful wedding for DS23 for $3000 not including her dress - (Golf course tent w/ heavy Hors' Dourves (?) ) and our favorite DJ. For DS24, we used a reception hall at a historical theatre, catered BBQ, same DJ - lots more work - we did the setup and some cleanup, served our own champagne and cake - set up our own bar, DHs uncle was the bartender. Anyway, that one was $4000 not including dress.

We ended up paying for both weddings, mostly. Just worked out that way.
I'm glad we don't live on the East Coast :scared1:

Okay, my wedding - about $400 total! :rotfl2: DH was newly in the Air Force - things were getting all wierd at home, so we eloped! DHs Uncle (the above mentioned bartender) is our age - flew out from LA with his wife - we got married in Rantoul, Illinois - not so far from Debbie - had 13 people at our wedding at the church, including the pastor. DH had some extended family in Chicago, and we had made a few friends. DH wore his uniform, as did his best man. I brought silk roses, wore the dress my mom made, had some silk flowers for my maid of honor, the best man's wife. We bought a small cake at the IGA and went to the trailer park at the best man's for cake and champagne. Uncle kept pouring champagne for me, so I don't remember much after that - he took us all out to dinner (part of the above mentioned total) at a local steak buffet place. I ordered "chicken fried steak" cuz that was the only thing I could really see on the menu! :lmao:
Everyone kept saying, "really? for your wedding?" :rotfl2: Our wedding night was in our little studio apartment. I don't remember much about that, either! :rotfl: It was two days before payday, and we had lunch at Burger King the next day with our last $5! I always say we had our honeymoon at Burker King! :rotfl2: It is a strange story, but fun, and we've been married 27 years!

Tammie, too funny!!! Quite the honeymoon! :rotfl2: My dad always says that the wedding doesn't make the marriage and he's so right! My folks got married in my mom's house with about 6 people there and they've been married now for 47 years! Congrats on 27!

When DH and I got married, he kept telling people he only signed a 10 year contract and would reevaluate after that! :lmao: And at the reception, I kept saying, "next time I get married, I'll do such and such differently!" :lmao: Still going strong after 11 years! Guess that means DH must have renegotiated his contract!

Off to the pool to sit and get a little more sun before we leave!

Oh poo to that study! You only live once - might as well look good while doing it! I get my hair colored AND hilighted; but I've never smoked or done drugs, so if God gets me because I color my hair, then so be it! (It makes me feel prettier!:) )!
I agree. I generally get so worked up about stuff, but the chance of me getting anything from it vs the risk of me being pissed every time I see gray hair... I will take my chances with my color, thank you very much.

Now for DD, I did find out that the Paci maker has a style that only has polycarbonate (the stuff with BPA) in the back button rather than on the part that touches her face. I told DH I was switching to that one, but she isn't taking any of the BPA free ones, and my life is a much happier place if she has that paci!:rotfl2:

Biergarten - UGH! I'm not a picky eater AT ALL, but man I do not enjoy the food here at all! I've given it two tries now, the last being this past Nov., and barely ate. I enjoy the bratwurst they sell at the stand outside, but it's not part of the dinner buffet. DD hated it too - made me promised to never go back. On the bright side, the beer is excellent and they have pretzel bread!!
I'm with you. Great reviews but that menu just makes me shiver.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Oh Cammie - you'll spend the next 25 years training him! :thumbsup2 :
I always tell DH once i get rid of him, I'll not have another one! :rotfl2:

I know what you mean about the African theming - it's one of the reasons the AKL doesn't appeal to me either. I did hear the Boma breakfast is top-notch also.
I'd like to try Boma, but preferably for dinner. DH and I are (okay I am) adventurous in food as well, but I'm not nuts about Nutmeg. I actually hate the spice, so I'm wondering if it is worth our time.

Cammie - I totally love Flame Tree - one of my favorite CS places in WDW! It feels more like real food as opposed to just burgers and sandwiches. Barbeque chicken or ribs, plus corn on the cob and beans. Yummy! If that's your cup of tea!
Watching Hell's Kitchen now. I love Chef Ramsay!!!

ME TOO! ON both counts!

Now being from the Northeast like me, $25,000 for a wedding isn't alot.
We were dirt broke when we got married. DH was working through graduate school. We were already living together and I was working for a finance company. We got married in an old historical mansion that cost $200 to rent for the evening. I spent $200 on pictures, $150 on a dress, bought my sandles at Pay Less, Made my veil and all the flowers (got a second job at Hobby Lobby so I got all silk flowers 50% off!) Made pretty much everything else. Our reception dinner was BBQ, I think that was $200 to feed 30 people. We did champagne punch to stretch out the budget. OH and no DJ - just taped music. We did have a harpist play during the ceremony though. It was wonderful, but very cheap. I've joked to DH that just means our 10th anniversary (which is coming up) is going to be a blow out! Anyway, the best part of the wedding? I took DH to be my "AWFUL wedded husband!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It is a strange story, but fun, and we've been married 27 years!
Such a good story though!

Okay, lunch break is over. Back to work! At least I caught up on my DIS stuff!

I took DH to be my "AWFUL wedded husband!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

No you did NOT!!!! :rotfl2: That so sounds like something that I would have done!!!!

Okay, lunch break is over. Back to work! At least I caught up on my DIS stuff!

Well, at least you have your priorites straight, getting your DIS stuff caught up!!!

Got me some sun today - just don't want to burn in Disney! And no matter how much tan I have, I ALWAYS burn on my nose so I look like a drunk! Hmmmm...... :lmao:

Where is everybody???? I'm beginning to feel snubbed during the day. What's with this "house cleaning" and "errands?" :rotfl2:

Hey guys! Such sweet wedding stories! You all obviously did it the "right" way; I feel like such a sap when I look back at mine.....if I only knew then what I know now!:sad2:

Our wedding came in just under $20,000 for 150 people. It was @$48 a head - and that was considered modest compared to some of the weddings my friends were having. Even my sister, four years later, went way over board - 200 people at $200 a head! (yeah - do the math!:scared1: ) My parents had $10,000 for each us for our wedding so she and her husband kicked in the rest. I heard it was quite a party - unfortunately we missed it because DD was just three months old and still in the hospital. Oh well!

Speaking of the above-mentioned sister, she left me a message yesterday - she and her family are going to WDW in Nov. also. She's booked it so she'll be there for three of the same nights we're there. She's also invited my parents - which, I was told "They were all over it!" This should be interesting. On one hand, I'm very excited to be there with family - it will be good for the girls. But, on the other hand, I'm very nervous to be there with family! When it comes to our Disney vacations, I'm not very flexible! Thank god this is only for three nights - think it's the perfect amount of time. Now, on to the planning; already told my sister we MUST make ADRs! She claimed she always does this too - "You can make them 60 days in advance, right?":headache: Sure - she's a planner!:rolleyes1 I hope they just all listen to me!

Oh, Cammie, you have your work cut out for you now! I feel your pain!

My SIL (notice there's no "D" in front of that! :rotfl: ) just emailed me and asked about internet in the rooms.... ok, no problem, I had to ask too. Then said they want to bring their laptop so they can set up their photopass account so BIL's parents can log in and view pics. We did this 2 years ago when we went, we called my P's and my inlaws and they all logged in each day to see what we had done. Well, she was the one making a big deal out of how much photopass was, so I found out we can combine all our cards onto one cd and then order copies for $20 each. So it's all set up in my name already since we have the photopass account already set up. I ordered the cd last week. I swear, sometimes people just don't listen! Oh, and she and BIL are checking all the menus now (yeah, 4 days before we leave!!!!) and commenting that they look very fattening and they're trying to eat healthy!! Well, why the heck didn't you bother to look 176 days ago before I made the ADRs???? I will have fun next week, I will have fun next week, I will have fun next week..... AARRGGHH!!!

Well, at least you have your priorites straight, getting your DIS stuff caught up!!!

:
Oh, yes, I sure did. Have the video to prove it. Everyone thought it was an "accident' but DH isn't the kind to cry and he was getting teary, so I decided to lighten his mood. It worked! Everyone thought he was teary from teh laughter!

Oh, my Cammie. Family there! Well - at least you are staying near WS - so that means you can drink all your troubles away in the evening - right? At least it is just for 3 nights!!!! So how long are you all staying there? 7? For some reason I'm thinking that - so you will be with them only a fraction of your time. I hope it will be good. But if not, you can always get "accidentally seperated" AND have your battery on your cell phone ran down. :rolleyes1

Just tell her that EVERY PLACE in Disney has salad. She can have that! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Sounds like such a fun SIL. Do you have your X Fusion packed too!?

The drinking advice was meant for Kara; but I know it's certainly going to apply to me too!
(my family will probably be appalled that I'm drinking at Disney!)

Again, I'm getting a complex!!!! :rotfl2:

I can PROMISE you that if I have one drink I will have at least 6 (at least one for every night there!!!!). And I just hate it when my cell battery dies at the most inopportune times!!!! :rotfl:

I ran out of X-Fusion last weekend! But we have a new liquor store that just opened up - I'll need to get there before Saturday when the family arrives! :scared1:

There's nothing sad about that! Plus, why wouldn't you listen to your fearless leader! I have done many a research for you!

Hi Girls! I feel bad because I want to stick around and I can't! My house still has a lot of work to be done and I was out all morning. My Dads car broke down!! Yes, that is two cars at the mechanic now!

DS is crying for me. I thought I could get him to take a nap since he has a cold but NO GO!

YEAH!! Laura and Kara!!!! So close...
I will be back I hope! Maybe tonight???

so we are back to getting up in the middle of the night. I am hoping she will be done so my mom won't have to deal with them while we are gone. I am going to miss her so much. But it means I have to go back...
