Hey guys! Just a quick stop-by to say hi and I miss you all!

I swear, I don't know where the days are going! But the girls are home now and it's time to start getting organized for the start of school next week. I promise I'll be around more this week! We have lots to catch up on!

I'll leave you with a pic of the girls and I at God's Stadium (Yankee Stadium):

Cammie - so glad you are back and it looks from your picture that you all had a good time. Question for you. I know that they are switching stadiums. Do you know when? My SIL (the one with the new baby) really wanted to go to a game before they moved. Wondering if I can help her out with that...

Tammie - you are so justified in pouting about not getting where you wanted to be. I completely get that. Those things are imporant! Here to listen anytime! :flower3:

Thanks for the product info. I'm just super sensative I guess. I ended up sneezing while my BF was using some flower stamps because I could vividly remember the smell of those flowers in bloom. :rotfl2:

Tell Jim that I'm convinced if any one of us is a person of interest for our trip, it is you. You just sound too stinking perfect in my book!

Laura - so sorry to hear about Tim's back. I hope that gets better for your guys soon. My dad had a disc issue - and that is a big thing. :sad2:

Pam - yes he will wear pink, but don't ask him to be a twinkie! :lmao: I'm glad that your hubby is all on board for our trip! My BF thought we were nuts, then she was jealous and now she thinks it will be cool. Carlos still lumps me in the coo-coo group.

Tina - I'm hoping the girls are doing better. I love that fabric too! I got bit by a tick and they actually treated me for rocky mt. spotted tick fever at about 4 - some type of shot. High fever and chills - I can remember that. Hope that all is well.

Jillian - CONGRATS on the new peanut! Can't wait to see a picture. I hope you have fun with your planning! :) Let us know how NS goes. I did the same before Mia - dropped, well - gosh, I guess 40 lbs before I got preg with Mia. It helped - pregnant the second cycle. Good luck! You must not be done. I love my niece, cant wait to hold her - but I just see her and all those sleepless nights... no thank you! :lmao:

Tessa - those kippers sound nasty. I'll take my tasteless scones anyday over that! :lmao: Hope things are going nicely for your family!

Kara - so glad that you are out of the ark building program, but you might have to get back in - have you looked at the atlantic ocean sat? WTH? I think the next storm will be coming either your way or ours next week. :headache: I sware, I'm NEVER booking a Sept beach trip again!!!

Okay~ so I went to the mall. Disney Store was .... well, boring, but a nice little dose of Disney in our day. Got some prescription sunglasses ordered (my first ever) so I'm excited about that. No big deal, but we were there until almost 2 - it has been so long since I've been at a mall for 4 hours! Couldn't tell you the last time!

I'm thinking tomorrow I will have the CT scan over by this time. Then hurry up and wait until Thursday probably for the results. I hate waiting. :headache: I'm hoping to come upstairs and reorganize my closet.

And now, let's pause for a moment of silence. That canvas looks pretty bad. The princesses look like they are coated in a layer of dirt and need a good tub bath! :lmao: I don't think I have it in me to redo that, so I'm thining I just might have to buy some pictures or something. :confused3

Fay is sitting on top of us. Very much needed rain.

Speaking of rain. I have you seen the nasty little storm sitting out in the atlantic - oh yeah - that one. Guess who's beach trip that bad boy is going to mess with? Oh yeah... :headache:

Just dropping in to say thank you to everyone who wished my girls well. DH took them to the DRs today and DD6 has bad allergies and a cold, but DD9 might have lyme disease. We've got her on antibiodics and then we go back in 3 weeks for blood work. The Dr agreed that the big red spot on her under arm could be a spider bite and her symptoms were really close to lyme disease. Has anyone experienced this? I'm trying not to freak out about it so she doesn't get scared, but I don't know what to do.

I have a had spider bites and tick bites. If they've got her on the meds all should be well. I thought if you got on the meds right away it helped lessen the effects. I've done the meds and it turned out well. I guess if you count the 3rd head I grew. I'm fine. :lmao:

Pam- My in-laws have a 4 bedroom cabin in WI. It is not a cabin rather a lake home. It works okay for all of us but it can be a bit trying when BIL and SIL are there with their rugrats. 11 people is a bit much. :scared1: My parents are in N. MN near an area named Brainerd, actually Breezy Point. They have a park model RV that is bi-level. It's a pretty nice RV park. There is 1 bed room and 2 lofts. We're spoiled because we don't have to pay for these places.

I'm crazy for taking the PTO spot. Tim still is on me to get a full time job. I just can't bear to think about being stuck in a cube all day long. I need to win the loto.

I'm a Jersey girl - born and raised! I'm only living in New England now because my stinkin' ex had us re-locate for a job here 15 years ago. I still refuse to cross over to the "dark side" and root for any of the home teams.

Go Yankees and Giants!:cheer2:

Tina, I don't know much first hand, but when Bucky (yes, I'm comparing your daughter to my dog! :lmao: ) had a tick on him a couple of weeks ago, I was researching and I read that lyme disease is NOT fatal, so don't worry. They have her on preventive meds, so all is good! But I'll keep her in my thoughts!!!

God's Stadium.... :rolleyes1 Don't think so. But I still love you! Even with your warped little mind! Great pic of you and the girls!!!!

Yes, Jeff will wear pink! I got him his first pink golf shirt and he loves it! He says, "I know I'm a man, I've got Ally to prove it." :rotfl2:

Laura and Debbie - you girls have got it made!!! And Laura, I know where Brainerd is!!!! I think my dad has relatives there! When I took Ally to MN 4 years ago to visit my uncle, we drove out to his old cabin on Elk River, and the new owners have turned it into a year round home. I can still remember as a kid, when he still had an outhouse!!!! Then he got indoor bathroom put in, but no hot water! My mom used to take this big ole tub in the trunk of our car, then she'd boil water and carry it out to the tub (like a big apple bushel) and bathe me and my sister every night outside! No wonder my mother hated those trips! :rotfl2: I loved those summers!!!

Jillian - where are the peanut pics??? Funny, when Ally was born, she was 6lbs 5 oz, but 5 lbs 11 oz when we left the hospital (I think they weighted her wrong one of those times....). When the nurse handed her to me, she said, "Look Kara, you've got a peanut baby!" So her nickname has been Peanut ever since....

OK, ladies, I'm off to work for now, but first...... drumroll please......

At Jenny Craig last night...... I lost 4.5 lbs this week!!! :cheer2: Yea for me! I think NS is pretty much the same Jillian. My neighbor lost nearly 6 lbs her first week, then it levels off after 2 or 3 weeks, and you will lose 1-2% of your weight each week. Both are great programs, just follow EXACTLY for the first 3-4 weeks, and you'll do great! :thumbsup2

Good Morning ladies! I can't stay long - I have to get in the shower. Mark and Lindsay started their student teaching yesteray, so I have the kids M-TH this week bright and early. Next week we have a sitter on Th & Fri so I can get some work done.

Jim was home and was supposed to help me with some things, so I started making ice cream with Myles. He had something come over him and he was so tired he couldn't move. He ended up in bed for most of the afternoon, and I was elbow deep in ice cream, spilled ice, baby slipping in spilled ice, spilled ice cream mix....REALLY FUN  I had an 2 appts and Ryan's birthday party last night too.

We made some crab that someone brought back from the coast for us. Good thing I made some wings, too! I guess this wasn't the right season for crab - it was gross!

Renee - I'm definately not perfect. I got in an argument with Mark and Lindsay the other night at 10pm and I ended up slamming the door and walking around the dark neighborhood for awhile just to think and cool off. We worked things out and everything is fine. I'm still trying to get my
two DDILs to get along and want to be a family - it seems like most of the time we do things with either one DS or the other. It just tears me up.

Debbie - so glad you're back before you leave again! :rotfl:

Cammie - glad you had a great time - fun pic of your girls! I loved the pics of your family on the other thread - looked like you were having so much fun!

Tina - hope your girls are okay.

Kara, hope you can stay dry. I used to go to a cabin at the lake like that when I was a little girl, too! It was in Northern MN - near Pelican Rapids, I think. Fun memories my kids will never have.

Well, I'd better get going - take care everyone ! :grouphug:

Morning everyone...

One of you about to trippers :lmao: can you do me (and the group) a favor? While at the Disney Store we were chatting about getting gift cert. there for the holidays that could be used for our trip. She told me (and I'd like someone to confirm it while in the park) that the certificates at the Disney Store could be used to buy park tickets, pay for your resort, shop in the parks and DTD AND DINING - not kiosk, but everything else. I'm hoping that is true and here is why...

If it is, then I'm asking for that for Christmas. I can stick them back, and there is a little something for our trip. :)

Fay is pouring still here. It is well needed. We're still drought ridden, so there is a lot of flash flooding, but not in my neighborhood. I needed to get groceries today, but I guess I will clean the yucky old house instead. You seriously would not believe the mess the kids made with Carlos in just - what 7 waking hours. I should take pics. I did nothing yesterday but wash dishes & clothes. The house looks like Fay hit it as a level 5.

Hope that everyone is having a good day...

And Kara, you suck. No, just kidding. I'm mad I didn't jump on the bandwagon with you. Hard to get motivated a week from vacation!

But seriously.. Kara :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: You go! That is half a dress size in one week missy!

FYI - BF was telling me that her dr once recommended to cut out all carb. drinks. Said that the carb. caused bubbles that would increase the size of your stomach, thus stretching it and causing you to eat more. :scared1:

Hey guys! Feel like life is starting to get back to normal. Girls came home last night and they are sleeping in. I really need to break them of this; next week school starts and it will be up at 6 a.m.! YIKES!

So we had a good time away last week. I could not have asked for more perfect weather and am so glad I took the girls to the Yankee game. I'm always a little nervous doing something new with Amanda because it's unfamiliar territory but everything worked out great. I had no problem driving thru the Bronx to the game; and the Yankee stadium staff was so nice and helpful - it was really an enjoyable experience. Renee - I think you had asked about when the old stadium is being knocked down? This is it's last year; the new stadium is built across the street and will be open for next season.

As for the rest of the week: well, add me to the list of people who is not in favor of vacationing with family! After last week, I'm soooo thankful we'll all be in Disney together for just three days. I think that's all the girls and I could take! We all had fun but there is two very different parenting styles in place. My Dsis's kids are up so early, don't eat well, and she doesn't really discipline them. Things often get out of control! And, oh my goodness, it was always so loud! By our third day at the pool club, my Dsis, her kids and my mom wanted to walk down the boardwalk to a restaurant for lunch. I was staying behind with Amanda because she was sleeping but told Lauren to go. She didn't want to and stayed with me. After everyone left, she told me she just wanted some peace and quiet and wanted to hang with me and Amanda!

Which brings me to my next sore subject. On this trip, it was so glaring to me how much Amanda was left out of things. I guess when it's just the three of us, we only do things that Amanda can do too. But on this trip, because my nieces and nephews were around, Lauren did alot of stuff she wouldn't normally be able to do. Good for Lauren, I know; but it really, really made me sad for Amanda!:sad1: We spent alot of time standing around, watching everyone else have fun. I know at Disney, I'll just take Amanda off to do something she can enjoy; at the Jersey shore, I didn't have those options.

And my mother - :sad2: ! I know I didn't talk to my parents for years because of how they were with Amanda; and I told myself to get over it because they'll never change but it's still hard to watch. I get absolutely NO help from any of them (except, of course, Lauren) - which is fine. But I wish they would at least have some understanding that I'm doing everything myself and maybe cut me some slack. I constantly felt rushed because I was never ready when they were. And, when I wasn't ready, they would just say "well, we're leaving; we'll meet you at the restaurant. Call when you're on your way." I'd call when I was 5 minutes away and they would want to put in their appetizer order. C'mon!!! Can you not wait for me until you start ordering? It just always made me feel like I was walking in on a party that had already started. And, of course, when we would get to the restaurant, they'd have a seat for Lauren at one end of the table with the rest of the kids; and a place for Amanda, next to me and with the rest of the adults. I soooo don't do that! I like to keep Amanda around the kids so she can enjoy the banter. By our third dinner out, when I walked in and saw the seating arrangements, I just said NOPE! I'm putting Amanda with the rest of the kids and I made everybody move!:snooty:

I'm hoping Disney will be more bearable because I'll be able to come and go as I please. And we have set ADRs so I can plan accordingly and get ready for things at my own pace!

So anyway, thanks for letting me get that off my chest! I've posted some pix on my PTR; but I'll share some here also:

And, forgot to mention -- I met my very first fellow DISer! Ellen (podsnel) is from NJ also and when she read that I was visiting, she PM'd me her phone # . She drove up and met me at a rest stop on the Garden State Parkway the day I was driving back home (the girls were with their dad). She was so sweet and I'm happy to report -- very normal! So I now feel even better meeting all of you! (and, btw, she doesn't think we're crazy at all for planning our trip!) Here's the two of us in the info.ctr.; she had her sons take our picture:

Cammie - I meant to mention this last night... your niece in the black - she looks like she could be yours.

I'll read the post later, but I so enjoy your pics! :lovestruc

Looks like Kara is out of the Gustav path. So either we get it on vac, or it goes to central america. Not that I wish it on anyone, but I hope it stays away from FL!

Funny you say that because she's the kid that looks most like her mother - my sister. And actually, the youngest one looked EXACTLY like Lauren as a baby!

Good luck with your CT today. Let us know how it goes.

Here is some :pixiedust: for you!

Renee - I thought the same thing about Cammie's niece!!!!

Cammie - great pics! I hate that your family just doesn't "get it" with Amanda. It sounds like more ignorance than anything intentional, but I'm sure it is frustrating! At least you don't have to worry about doing that too often. Maybe that's why you stayed in Boston!!! :rotfl2:

And I can't belive you met Ellen before ME!!!! But that's okay, she seems like a great gal. I'll let you off with a warning.... :rotfl2:

Now they are saying that Hurricane Gustav may intensify to a Cat 5!!!!:scared1: Unfortunately, it looks like it may hit Mexico at this point, around Cancun. Not good at all.

Well, my boys are working on the outdoor kitchen today. It's still so wet though that they have to work in spots, and they've got big fans on the rest of it, trying to dry it out, so they can finish tiling. I just really want it done for this weekend!!!

I need to get pics of Ally at gymnastics. She had another great class last night and said she was the only one who was "perfect" doing her back handspring. Of course they are still using the "haybale" which is fine by me. But then she showed me what else she learned (I ran to JC while she was in class so I missed the first 40 minutes) - a back bend!!!! I never could do that! She'll be doing back walkovers very soon I'm sure, and then the back handspring. I can't believe my little peanut has absolutely no fear at all!

Well, tonight is Open House at school. Jeff of course has to work so I have to go alone. I hate going to these things by myself!

Cammie - Oh, man. I would say I can't believe all that, but I can. First, good for your for making them all move. :snooty: I say at Disney, you arrange the seating and stick one of them at the kid table to show them how that feels! I totally think she would enjoy that interaction and miss it!

That situation is just so tough and I hate that as a mom you got put into it. I can understand you being torn - happy Lauren can do things she generally can't and sad that Amanda isn't participating in a lot of that.

And your parents/family... I don't know, Cammie. I honestly don't know what to say. I so don't get that. I so don't. I really get nasty and wish you had to spend zero Disney time with them. Why the heck can't they take some of that energy and try to help you rather than running off and leaving you? I think some people just have a screw loose on that type of thing.

So here is my nosey thing today. And put me in my place if I'm stepping out of bounds, but as a eyeglass wearer - does Amanda have anti reflective lenses? I just noticed how the camera always catches glare in them. They look like they might be transitions, but I thought they didn't look like antirefective. I LOVE that feature on mine. I tried it once without, and it is a huge difference. Lights produce a pretty bright glare without them - especially sun. Again... just a thought.

And for the family/Amanda. I wish I had some magic words to say to make it all better. I seriously do. I'm here to listen anytime, and to tell you I think you are a great mom. I think Amanda knows that too. She is blessed with more love from you and Lauren than most people get as a sum their whole life time. So focus on that, and pity the others. They don't know what they are missing! :snooty: I know that you still want your parents to get it and to be involved. I wish the world was ideal, but sometimes, it is just not.

Thanks for the CT good vibes. I have got to make it a point to down as much water as I can. I have small veins that don't handle IVs well. I'm sure I will come out of there with 3 sticks minimum and all black and blue. :headache: If I remember correctly, the radioactive die gives me a nice headache too. :headache: Then again, could have been that "sucky" morphine pump I had. :lmao: (appendectomy a couple years ago)

You must take pictures to share! I'm so glad she is having a good time!

Good for you on the kitchen. I would say they are getting it done just in time for fall (our leaves are already changing/falling here on some trees believe it or not) but I guess it will be just in time for some nice evenings to sit out and watch animal planet in your back yard!

Gustav does look like it might head that way, but if you actually look at the plotted path to date, for some reason it just looks like unless an airflow shifts it, it will be more northernly. I hope i"m wrong... and then that nasty blob behind it. YUCK!

Thanks guys!:grouphug:

It is probably more ignorance than intentional. But still, I spent alot of time during Amanda's younger years trying to help them along in what to do. Think it all just went in one ear and out the other. That's why my life motto is: "It is what is!"

Renee - You're not being nosy. You can ask anything you want. Regarding Amanda's glasses - they are transition lenses; and pretty sure they have (or had) the anit-reflective. But she is due for a new pair since I was told that the transition feature wears off after awhile. Wonder if the ant-reflective does as well.

I generally get mine replaced once a year. I actually took mine in yesterday at that 11 month mark because they had these spots on the inside. Turns out it was the coating coming off. Here is your tip, they put it on the INSIDE of the lenses and it is often like a hot yellow/green cast that you can see as you rock them back & forth. I'm not certain, but I am pretty sure my Transitions did not have the antireflective coating on them. I personally didn't like them because they were too dark for me inside, but they are very good for protecting your eyes from UV rays. But seriously, next time you go - ask about that. I'm sure they will be more comfortable with the AR coating. I wanted to get mine quicker one time and asked for it to be left off, I couldn't even get out of the mall for being so upset with all the glare on them. Had to have them redone that day.:sad2:

As for the family, I think I can sum it up. A little this :sad2: plus :rolleyes1 plus  plus :scared: plus :sad1: ... So I'm sending you a virtual whole lot of :grouphug:

Cammie - I sware my mind is mush! I was logging on to ask you how Amanda was doing with the mouth healing? She looked well in the pictures. (And she totally puts my daughter to shame with her outfits! Matching headbands! I sware. You were on my mind yesterday as I bought Mia a dozen hairbows. :lmao: )
